Should the sweeper be trying to get one leg outside and one leg inside (as opposed to both legs as butterfly)? Sorry if this is an obvious question, I didn't quite follow

I would say that both legs in, is easier to elevate the Opponent. With just one leg and some heavy hips the opponent can Smash and maybe pass. Also when you have both legs in, you normally can get one out once the opponent is elevated. Correct me of i am wrong. Oss

@@phredbookley183 what I like to do is, use both legs to elevate, when I can turn them over with just the butterfly, i put one leg out and use a scissoring Motion to get the Sweep. I hope you understand. Greetings from Germany. Oss

Yeah but would argue Marcelo has been more successful with it.

Possibly yes - but I think Ryan got Buchecha with it so there’s definitely an argument to be made in whose is more effective -
