Thank you so much for your videos. :) I had frozen shoulder around 5 years ago, then damaged 3 of my 4 rotor cuffs, & had cording as a result and limited range of movement. Spring 2022, I had a lumpectomy and steuggled with range of movement both before surgery and post surgery. The wound opened up & got infected to, so was a right rollar coaster .... my range of movement reduced even more, and although I kept saying I couldn't do the exercises, I wasn't being listened to .... I ended up declining radiotherapy, one of the many reasons was lack of range of movement and the risk of even greater lack of range of movement. Sadly 8 months on post surgery, I have a local reoccurance .... and now have to cope with 'being judged' by the medical profession for declining the radiotherapy the first time. All the reasons for decisions are still the same now as was then, (lack of support is a big one) however your videos have ensured I have pretty much removed the cording - thank you - whilst my range of movement isn't what it was, it is alot better and about 85% of what it should be, I currently could not maintain that shoulder position for ?future? radiotherapy, though.

Hi Caroline, I am so sorry for my delayed reply. I am sorry to hear about your shoulder and the recurrence. I hope you have a good therapist on the ground to help you recover further range of motion. I have a Private Facebook Group called 'The Compass Community' - a global online Breast Cancer Education & Support Network with weekly live education sessions and Q&A. There is much more interaction on this platform. Here is the link if you would like to join: facebook.com/groups/breastcancercompasscommunity

@@TheBreastCancerPhysio Thank you so much, 4 weeks post surgery from lumpectomy 2, & I can not do any of week 2 exercises due to lack of range of motion & cording - which is much worse than last time. Now been told I am due to have a mastectomy on Fri 23rd Dec. I will definately join your facebook group :) thank you so much xx I so hope the rehab / physio cancer movement team are good at the hospital. Thank you so much, I can not express how much help (and hope) your videos have given me, & how much they have improves the quality of my life.

Thank you for your video Jen. I have recently had a lumpectomy and am due to have radiotherapy when a haematoma has resolved itself. My problem is that I have had rheumatoid arthritis for many years which has badly affected my shoulders and I have very restricted movement, particularly in the left shoulder. The surgery was done on the right breast but I have been told that I will need to raise both arms for the radiotherapy. I'm starting out with a physiotherapiest this week but I wish I'd been told this right at the start of the process although even then I'm not sure how much I can improve the situation due to torn rotator cuffs and other long term damage. Is there any way I might be able just to raise my right arm do you think?

I didn’t have trouble during radiation but now I’m having difficulty raising my arm post radiation. It’s been 4 months since I finished. It’s painful now under my arm and across my chest.

I had a mastectomy and am 4 months post radiation as well. I try and stretch often during the day. It still hurts everyday but am hopeful that this will become a memory a year from now. Best of luck with your healing.

Hi Stephanie! Thanks for your comment. It is most likely Radiation Fibrosis that you're experiencing. Watch my video on Radiation Fibrosis and let me know if you think this is what it is. Happy to help further: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXbRhWOFhKilm9U

@@TheBreastCancerPhysio thank you. I did watch it and it does seem to be radiation fibrosis. I do stretch everyday but I will be incorporating the stretch you showed as well. It’s painful but I will keep trying everyday. Thanks again

Steph I have a video coming out in a few weeks time that may be of interest to you for Radiation Fibrosis. It is a compression garment that is called a Comfiwave Breast Band. Google it and have a look - my video will go into detail about how it can be used for Radiation Fibrosis. Do you have a Physiotherapist near you that can help? Jen x
