Lately I have been having pain like someone stepped on my chest. Then my stomach feels like someone punched me in the stomach. I am sick of feeling like this then I can't tolerate pain killers because I have trouble with swelling and I have liver problems. I want to have this to where this is tolerable.

Praise to Almighty, it's my 8th month post right breast lumpectomy, & right axillary lymph nodes(18) dissection due to right breast's Multifocal Invasive Duct Carcinoma. Post surgery, i experienced this kind of unbearable feeling of my skin being torn apart. As of this moment, there's a feeling of discomfort of numbness, and thickness @ my right armpit extending to my arm. I refused right breast's mastectomy, chemo, & radiation therapies because i believe in destiny ... and so, i lift everything unto God. Thank u for the information which is educational, & additional knowledge about my present health condition which provides a great relief from my anxieties. May God bless u more ...

I meant to say it’s not my underarm that feels NUMB. Sorry about that. Suzanne.

It’s been five months since I had my lumpectomy and radiation on my right breast. When I look in the mirror and compare the two, my right breast is darker and my nipple is darker than my left, it’s like there’s a brown circle around it. Also, it’s not my underarm that feels nimble, it’s my breast where the radiation was targeted. Is this normal? Also, where the radiation was targeted, my skin feels so hard and rough there. I would love to hear back from you. Suzanne, and thank you.

Hi Suzanne, so sorry for my delayed reply. I have more videos on Radiation Fibrosis, which is what you're most likely describing in regards to the symptoms of your breast. Have a look at this video first: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXbRhWOFhKilm9U I also have a Private Facebook Group called The Compass Community. I do regular free Live Education Sessions on Compass and we often discuss Radiation Fibrosis as it is such a big problem. Women are very rarely told about this as a potential side effect of Radiation. Here is the link to my Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/breastcancercompasscommunity

You talk about “a compression garment.” If one has had a double mastectomy stage 3 breast cancer with about 30 lymph nodes removed and develops lymphedema, is it appropriate to wear only a sleeve and not a glove or gauntlet as well? I have read so much research that states the lymphatic fluid can then accumulate in the hand and cause further problems. What is your take on this if I may ask? Thank you!

Just about 2 months since my bilateral mastectomies with only 2 lymph nodes remove in my left side. But I have a lot of numbness feeling in my left armpit, arm, side chest area and towards almost a half of my back area. Thank you for the tips. I been exercising and doing heating pads per my plastic surgeon recommendation. I'm going to add massaging the area.

Hi there, I also find this video to be very helpful and assuring that I am not alone with my pain. I had 2 lumpectomies in the same left breast in a matter of year and a half. Then chemo and radiation. I am already going for a lymphatic massage and I am not so surprised from the pains (exactly as described in this video) in the operated breast but I want to ask - is it common to have same pains in the other breast that never been operated? My doctors are puzzled by it and are just watching it now by MRIs every 6 months. I would appreciate your feedback! Thank you in advance! Roumi (Canada)

I had a lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy followed by SAVI internal radiation. 2 years post surgery I have developed swelling (diagnosed by my medical oncology team as mild lymphedema in my armpit). Self lymphatic drainage massage was recommended. Is it best to do the entire arm or just the area of swelling? Thank you. (July 28, 2024) 14:32

Ok, I just replied to one of the other videos. I am 67, 3wks post op, with expanders for reconstruction. I am doing great, but wanting to get more movement. I wanted to hear when can you start each item you speak of. I suppose at this point I need doctor to answer my question. Your information is wonderful. Thank you so much.

I had a lumpectomy on 6/13/2024 for stage 0, grade 1 DCIS. All ofl the DCIS was removed but I've had 6 weeks of post-op complications (an allergic reaction to steristrips caused blistering along entire incision, followed by infection & seroma that refilled after 2 aspirations of 165 ml & leaked through incision). I'm seeing progress in healing, but radiation oncology is saying I need 4 weeks of whole breast radiation, just as "an insurance policy" to be sure there's no lurking DCIS cells. This is the same treatment as if I had invasive breast cancer, & my concerns over side effects, both short term & long term, are being minimized as "patients tell me they have a new normal." I've been doing research, & I am at higher risk of skin problems from radiation, being very fair skinned & having larger breasts. I'm also an asthma sufferer, & worried about possuble lung scarring from the radiation as well. After 6 weeks of dealing with wounds on my breast, I am not eager to sign up for some more. But at least you are offering helpful information on what can be done, as well as validating that these are real concerns. Thank you so much for that. I haven't decided whether I will agree to radiation, but if I do, I feel I will have a better sense of what help to seek for side effects.

You videos have been very useful to me. I am two months post right breast mastectomy. I have recovered well but have some cording and a tight scar ending in a dog ear. It is the dog ear I am struggling to beak down with scar massage. The cording seems to go down to this point and is more problematical into the scar and chest than in the arm itself. Have you any advice, and do you cover the dog ear in any of your videos?

Why as an Australian professional do you used Americanised spelling? It really does make one wonder. In Australia we use s not z in many words like personalised. As an educator,I find this disturbing that ‘influencers’ such as yourself cannot get the basics of correct spelling.

Thank you for your video Jen. I have recently had a lumpectomy and am due to have radiotherapy when a haematoma has resolved itself. My problem is that I have had rheumatoid arthritis for many years which has badly affected my shoulders and I have very restricted movement, particularly in the left shoulder. The surgery was done on the right breast but I have been told that I will need to raise both arms for the radiotherapy. I'm starting out with a physiotherapiest this week but I wish I'd been told this right at the start of the process although even then I'm not sure how much I can improve the situation due to torn rotator cuffs and other long term damage. Is there any way I might be able just to raise my right arm do you think?

Actually my 2 oncologists were men and would not even mention this to me, I when I asked they said no you don't have RF I SAID WELL NO I HAVE PULMONARY FIBROSIS FROM THE RADIATION THAT'S WHAT IT SAYS ON THE PET SCAN YOU ORDERED MAYBE YOU DIDN'T LOOK AT THAT PET SCAN OKAY.. I can't believe what this medical so called specialist oncologist in hematology/oncology. And I'm not saying because they're men because even if they're men and they wouldn't know what it feels like or would know anything but they are oncologist that are supposed to look at the scans evaluate them see what the notes were and what the radiation oncologist interpreted but not they don't care if it ain't they're dealing with they don't want to do s***
