About the Classic Tokusatsu Collection that recently came out, Shout released their statement about the two films; Prince of Space and the Golden Bat: "Hi, all! We know there have been a few questions about this set. Please see the answers below: Prince of Space: Toei produced two theatrical movies in 1959 that featured the Planet Prince character. The movies were released a week apart. The films were titled: - Planet Prince (遊星王子, Yūsei Ōji) Released: May 19, 1959 - Planet Prince - The Terrifying Spaceship (遊星王子 - 恐怖の宇宙船, Yūsei Ōji - Kyōfu no Uchūsen) Released: May 25, 1959 For TV release in America, these two Planet Prince movies were compiled into an 85-minute, English-dubbed movie entitled Prince of Space that was first shown in 1965. Golden Ninja There are two English titles for this release, GOLDEN NINJA and GOLDEN BAT. Golden Bat is the literal translation, whereas Golden Ninja is the more figurative translation we were originally provided."

It still doesn't explain why the second Prince of Space movie wasn't included. That's the main criticism that was brought up.

@@Lightning63 Just because Boukenger went to widescreen, in Japan they didn't start with Blu-Ray's until Gokaiger. So it would make sense for everything up to Goseiger to be on DVD

Got mine yesterday and checked out Golden Ba- I mean Golden Ninja as well (it was a pretty simple but fun film). Like you I was worried I was going to miss it and set up a payment plan to get it. Edit: Also one of the many reasons I didn't snag a pre order for Geats as dropping both expensive sets on the same week was certainly a move. I agree with you on the packaging! Wish Shout would do more stuff like this for their others Toku releases

Watari the NInja Boy was based on a manga by Sampei Shirato (author of Kamui Den) the animated renditions of the characters on the poster are because when the movie was released in Japan it was a double feature with Toei's animated Cyborg 009 film. Shirato hated the movie though and plans to adapt the film into a series were cancelled. Toei had big plans to franchise Watari out and they didn't want to give up entirely so they hired Mitsuteru Yokoyama to create a ninja manga they could adapt in its place and that was Masked NInja Akakage funny enough.

Thank you for the review: as a big fan of the character, I'm honestly sad about "Prince of Space" being only one half of his whole film series without the English dubbed compilation (same one used in Mystery Science Theater 3000) added as a bonus feature to fill in the blanks, so-to-speak. I will probably hold off on the set until next month or enjoy the free Tubi uploads while they'll remain up. Honest reviews like yours really help consumers like myself out.
