I don't know if its simply the nostalgia I receive of my childhood when I listen to these 80's classics or what but these 80'S classics always pick me up and make me feel good, hopeful, and optimistic. Maybe it was a time for me when I was young, healthy, and had no worries. Family and friends were alive and well and death and bills were never a thought. Time was forever ! My mother and father were together and living, grandpa was alive and my grandma, uncles, and cousins all grew up in the same neighborhood. The music was great and so were the films. I miss the days of human interaction and playing sports and games outdoors. I miss the days of waiting by the phone for a phone call or running down two flights of steps and jumping over couches just to answer the phone. I miss neon lights, the arcade (Pac-man), and the roller skating rinks on Friday and Saturday nights. The arts, the people, and era will always be with me... Always! The best times ever !

Irene was involved with another all star group,the Bee Gees were I first found out about this singing sensation whom I started to literally fall in love with her and the way she sang her music directly from her own being I would listen to her song from Dirty Dancing whenever I needed a boost in life from hardships or bad times in life she was an inspiration to me and when I found out about her passing it was like hearing a family member passing I was literally almost in tears when I heard it on the radio and just thinking about it now I get upset but the beautiful lady looked just like my wife in so many ways when she sang Fame and I told my wife about that a few years ago .And when my wife found out about it she new I was really bummed out about her passing . So life is so special and so short that sometimes we all need to slow down and enjoy life like Irene did . She truly was a gifted and beautiful woman that I did enjoy her talents and music and acting and I hope possibly in the afterlife we as some of her fans will see her and tell her how special she was here. And I’m not going to say God rest her soul ,But God can I get the opportunity to meet and talk to this wonderful person however it is in the afterlife . I’m 6 years younger than her but seeing her really did something special to me I miss you and love you forever hope to see you later RIP till we meet or whatever happens after death . Amen

She sued someone in the industry, I believe her agent or label, over a money dispute. She wasn't big enough yet to do that without being destroyed by the industry! She got 15% of the money she was looking for but also had to spend a lot of money on lawyers. Talent is not allowed to stand up for itself! I guess today via social media and other outlets it would have been harder to black ball her, but back then it was very easily especially for a new and up in commerce. Unfortunately around the same time, maybe because of distress, she developed a Coke habit! She claims it was not a real habit and was part of the industry black balling her.

Flash dance and Fame is a childhood memory for me...I still have the video cassette tape and turn table plate which my dad got from the USA.....and some Solid Gold recordings my father made....Irene Cara was a complete Artist..RIP..

Speaking of the USA, I've retired to Central America, every time I clean my yard or tend to my field; I sing all the classic tunes of the 60's,70's,80,'s and 90's. I'll bounce from Jim Croce to Harry Nilsson, Irene Carr, Funkadelic's, Leo Dan, Piero, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Bee Gees, Lennie Williams, Lamont Dozier, Glady's Knight, Sammy Davis, Celia Cruz, Staple Singers, and dozens more. Daylight is my clock these days, neighbors laugh at me, I return the favor. Living the Dream!

Love seeing Irene Cara dance like no one is watching! Back when you didnt need choreographed dances. Nowadays they lip synch to the choreography. Irene Cara is just pure natural talent.

I'm pretty sure she is lip synching.
@clintonhouston10484 жыл бұрын
@@cisco1425 OH, definitely lip synching for sure, but still was very talented back in the 80's, should have been a much bigger star of the 80's, like Beyonce is today.

Yeah if she isn't lip synching then oxygen worked differently back then. But I was alive then....and it didn't.
@garyc21614 жыл бұрын
@@cisco1425 She is not lip synching, you can tell by listening to her singing closely. Also, this particular show did not allow artists to lip synch.
@Julie-jq1sy4 жыл бұрын
@@garyc2161 It's funny how lip synching is such a big deal to people. Movies are so tricked out with computers for years and scenes get repeated to death and then computerised. God forbid someone may actually being singing through a Mic. Todays world AI is a big trend and the norm. Oh. I do love this song. Irene Cara real deal. Have a good weekend.
