Absolutely agree on Paint It Black having sounded better live with snare hits on every other tom 8th note as delivered by the one & only Mr. Charlie Watts 🙌👑

@@HangFireStonesPodcast Just from the clips sounds like Ron was on fire 🔥 and Keith as well. Haven't heard it live tho. There's a video of Ron and Keith playing part of MM as a medley (with 'Shirley') in 1974, Ron's solo shows. You tell me how it was!!!

@@HangFireStonesPodcast Just re-watched Monkey Man from the Philly June 11th show and I gotta give Steve credit for maintaining Charlie's roughness and attack which is so crucial for that song 🙌 (Try to imagine it without that backbeat *pop*!) Also: Veery cool and original idea to play the ride cymbal bell at a couple of spots, suits the style of the song and era soo well! Still, I prefer Charlie's 2003 version, it's such a stellar combination of hard swing and rough-on-the-edges fills. Steve's fills are just a touch too bubbly and bouncy imho

I was there (Cleveland) too with Lucky Dips and Inverse to you received 500 level seats, and the 2 people AFTER us got PIT tickets!! Those are the breaks. I agree with you on Paint it Black and Happy seemed more “Whino-ish” especially the end of the song. Missed no Midnight but Heartbreaker/Monkey Man was a nice 1-2 punch. Whole Wide World was performed exceptional, I thought. I was a bit disappointed at first to have Miss You in the set but Micks harp, was something I had never heard live!!That was really cool. Missed 2021 because Charlie wasn’t there and only returned in 2024 because of Hackney Diamonds. I wanted to hear new stuff with Steve as part of creative process. Hoped for 4 songs off Hackney but SSOH took a night off from encore. Headed to Chicago for 2 shows and feel confident I’ll get Mess it Up and Rambler one of the two shows and also Sweet Sounds of Heaven at least once. In 2019 at Soldier field the played SEVEN different songs between show #1 and show #2 and anticipate them doing the same type of thing this time around. And BTW, like you did a Power Upgrade to capture the incredible sound you mentioned and Keith was on fire those closing numbers. Thanks for all you do it really appreciated!!

Sweet Sounds instead of Tell Me Straight. So sad it's lost its spot. The first stone cold classic since Tattoo You. I'd be happy if they dropped Miss You for it too.
@captainkirk703 ай бұрын
Not sure why they place Sweet Songs as an encore. I LOVE it there but Mick's adrenaline is at an all time high for the encore and the masses are expecting a high energy Warhorse. I'm sure Mick's perception of wrong tempo on it is just because of its placement and the faces and energy of the crowd. Just a weird place for a new song. Switching You Can't.. with Sweet Sounds' placement would work much better.

Dude you should do what I do. Never buy advance tickets for a Stones show. Wait until it's closer to showtime outside. Plenty of people trying to get rid of extra tickets for cheap outside. People at that age are usually wealthy and people flake at the last minute they just want to get inside and will take pretty much anything for a ticket. I never fail to get great tickets for cheap. Ever. I haven't paid more than $100 for a show since I learned this trick. Just got to be patient. Then sell your lucky dip for a bit cheaper close to the walk up window. I don't buy advanced tickets for any show. Even if I'm flying in for a show. Seriously, wait until the opener is playing at least. Even better after the opener and the Stones starting. Even if you miss a bit of Start Me Up do you really care if you get great seats? I always get great seats and have only been bummed if I don't wait till I'm outside. Do it every time. Unless you're in LA or something. These smaller cities never sellout.

@cmgosh373 ай бұрын
It’s a very limited lottery. Just a handful of tickets per each show which have seating “tiers.” Only sold in pairs, They are available typically right at the very beginning of the ticket sale, in this case December 2023. It might last for 10 minutes tops. I got my top priority shows of Cleveland and the Chicago shows because of location. Tried for a couple of other cities after those three and then pooof, they’re gone! It provides the possibility or “chance” to be in the PIT or other great seating area for merely $50 per seat. Pick up your wrist band and seat assignment at will call, then you go directly into the show. Not for resale.

Sorry for the lucky dip situation, but you seem to have a great attitude about everything !At the end of the day it’s just great to be in the stadium watching our favorite band. i’m glad you got to move your position, I agree that the sound has been great in certain spots. I’ve been thinking this for a while now since the 2021 tour, but I would be fine with Paint It Black being dropped. I’ve gotten the feeling for years now that the band is just going through the motions with that one and they feel they have an obligation to play it. And where is CYHMK?
