Show and Tell - Pinch Pots and Raku from Pottery Class

In the ceramics class I'm taking, so far we've been working on pinch pots. The first project was to create pinch pot bowl with a 5 inch diameter. I made two - one a bit more risky (but with a more interesting form!) and another a bit more conservative. I trimmed the risky one a bit too much to hit 5 inches so it was good I had the backup. The second project joined 2 pinch pots together capturing air in the middle. From there we manipulated them and made organic forms. One I scored and stained and had fired to cone 6. And the finally one I applied a petal like surface finish using a lot of tiny balls of clay and we did a raku firing.

Raku pot turned out great, I'm thinking of glazing in Raku and experimenting and advice on Raku.... thank you for posting

Thanks! It was fun. Since this was a class the glaze and firing process was very much structured which made it easy. And I had fun with the form.
