My recommendations list: -Badass set of characters: The Best Bad Things by Katrina Carrasco a spy/gumshoe novel starring a female protagonist -Cozy Mystery: Finding Fortune by Delia Ray. It is middle grade, but it is so cozy and fun -Too scary to read: Literally could not even pick up My Best Friend's Exorcism, so I guess it fits the bill lol -Makes you cry like a baby: Song of Achilles. 100%. Even thinking about it now is making me misty-eyed -Exciting travel vibes: The Hobbit or The Dragonlance series, starting with Dragons of Autumn Twilight. They are traveling adventures, but both are the first I pictured for this prompt -Spooky: The Glass Witch (middle grade, just tips over into spooky) or Our Shadows Have Claws (YA and above for stronger spooky short stories) -A book like All too Well: Pride and Prejudice for a classic or Blindsided by Amy Daws. I've not seen the video by T.Swift, but based on your description, that's what I'd recommend. Blindsided is literally red heads, romance, a little toxic at times, and smut for the fun of it -Grumpy Sunshine trope: House in the Cerulean Sea. I know it isn't exactly the prompt, but there is a bit of that sunshine and grump aesthetic -Feels like a warm cuppa tea: Legends and Lattes. Absolutely perfect -Stranger Things vibes: agree with your assessment of My Best Friend's Exorcism. Nothing can top that lol -Good for a quiet early morning with coffee: How Do You Live? by Genzaburo Yoshino. If you are a fan of Miyazaki (studio Ghibli), this was his favorite book growing up, and it's easy to see why. This book romanticizes everyday moments we often take for granted. This book is a clear inspiration for the Ghibli animation studio styles. It must have been a heavy influence -To get out of a reading slump: Stardust by Neil Gaiman, either hard copy or audiobook. Or any audiobook. Many of us booklovers feel guilty listening to books, but if you put on something, hear those voices, you get pulled into a story. Sometimes, it is all you need to break through and find the time/energy/passion again -Nostalgic: Alice in Wonderland or the Harry Potter series OR the Redwall series by Brian Jacques -As magical as Harry Potter and Nevermoor: The Train to Impossible Places series. Really fun characters, fast-paced middle grade, great for whole family -Gothic romance: Jane Eyre. It's a classic, but there is a reason -Character driven: A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet or Piranesi. Different vibes. If you like more sci-fi, go with A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. If you like fantasy/mystery, Piranesi might be for you -Mixes mystery and humor: Almost Super by Marion Jensen. It is middle grade. It is silly. Our whole family was laughing while we tried to solve the book for ourselves. Very cute and lighthearted -Mermaid vibes/cover: Sea Witch by Sarah Henning (Ursula's side of things) -Multigenerational: If by that, you mean the whole family can enjoy, I'd say A Series of Unfortunate Events -Stockholm syndrome but make it sexy: A Curse so Dark and Lonely (Cursebreaker Series) by Brigid Kemmerer -Feels like spring/new beginnings: Heartstopper series for quick love story or Emma for something longer. (To add to it, my Emma cover is stunning and looks like spring) -Housewife Murder: The Poison Keeper by Deborah Swift (Italy's aqua tofana killer) -Graphic novel with breathtaking artwork: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind for YA and higher (classic Miyazaki art styles with sprawling scenes) or the Hilda series for Middle grade and higher (the art is breathtakingly whimsical) -Has a fashionable character: A Blade so Black (book one of the Nightmare-verse series). Every character seems to be described so fashionable. Especially Alice and the Hatter -Feels like a beach vacay: Beach Read of course! or Flat Share. I always think of quick romance books as the perfect beach vacation book. Both a fast-paced, cute, and fun -Set on Cape Cod: na -Black love: The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest -Set in a Cottagecore world, magical elements, sweet romance: The Tea Dragon Society. SO CUTE! -Fairies: na -Foxenwood feels: League of Gentlewomen Witches or The Mysterious Benedict Society -Features art: The Empress of Art by Susan Jaques a very fun and detailed book on Catherine the Great and her deep art collection If you made it this far, and you'd like me to elaborate on any of my listed titles, let me know! I am happy to explain. Happy Reading!

Nice video :) You should do a video where you do blind picks from all your unread tbr and then do a weekend or week long readathon from the blind picks. For both the prompts "it feels like spring" and "cottagecore with magic and a cute romance", I highly highly recommend Goose Girl by Shannon Hale, it has nature based magic, beautiful nature descriptions and writing, a found family, a very cute and sweet romance, the main character is a princess, who had her place forcibly taken by her servant, so she goes and gets a job as a goose girl for the king and lives in a small cottage going out to the field every day talking to geese. It's a really beautiful book

Hey Lex! I am sitting here watching your old videos while working remote for my job, and I had a thought. I know you moved, but if you are still in Chattanooga, I think there are many of us who would love you to do a video of your favorite restaurants, coffee shops (I know you usually mention a couple in vlogs), book stores, good places to read, the Chattanooga market, etc. My mom and I have talked about doing a weekend up there (we are in NC), and I think a lot of us on here would LOVE a vlog tour! Just a thought. I hope you have a lovely day!!💚

Definitely adding a few of these to look into! "The Marvellers" is really good and definitely is a good one for that request. My own personal recommendation for graphic novel with breathtaking artwork is "W.I.T.C.H.", by Elisabetta Gnone, Alessandro Barbucci, and Barbara Canepa. Also, I don't know much about cottage core, but from what I do know and as someone who's currently reading "A Far Wilder Magic" I'm not quite sure it will fit the vibes of the request. It definitely primarily takes place out in the countryside of their world, but the story is a lot darker and contains more serious themes than what the blurb tells. I'd more recommend the manga "Snow White with the Red Hair," if you want something a little lighter.

If you're looking for a book that features/talks about art, I'd highly recommend I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. I know that not everyone enjoyed this book, but I thought it was very beautiful. The writing style is very metaphorical and literally makes it feel like you're stepping into a painting. It's about many different kinds of love (between twins, a boy and a girl, 2 boys, a family, and also abt the love for art), and it also talks about grief, belief and being true to yourself. Very beautiful.

For me The Neverending Story was a very enchanting movie. I had absolutely no idea that it was a real actual book. I was ten (the perfect age!) when I watched the movie and I watched it ten times in a row. To say it was impactful would be a gross understatement. When I was in college I was waiting on my fiance to finish a meeting that took place at a library and in a town that I didn't live in--I was wandering the stacks when I came across The Neverending Story, the book. I was astounded. And naturally sat right down and read it! To be honest, I prefer the movie but I'll always remember my astonishment and delight over stumbling onto the book.

I can recommend Susan Vreeland for books centered around real art/artists (historical fiction). I have read The Luncheon of the Boating Party, The Girl in Hyacinth Blue, The Passion of Artemisia, and The Forest Lover and have enjoyed them all.

Thank you for another wonderful video 💚 Now a question... Recommend me a book that's like the Lockwood and Co series. I've just finished it (may have read all five books in about two weeks) and now can't move on to anything else because they were so good.

Ooooo!!!! Okay! I haven’t read the series yet but I’ve seen the trailer and you might possibly like Constable and Toop which is a book about a ghost detective who teams up with a kid to solve a ghost mystery- similar vibes! Orrrr you could try one of my favorite books The Graveyard Book!!

Lex did a haunted reading vlog a couple years ago but it’s middle grade books. Highly recommend watching if you haven’t but two of the books were “City of Ghosts” and “Tunnel of Bones” by V.E. Schwab (who I love and discovered through Lexi). Another one that sounded good was called “Dead Voices” by Catherine Arden. It is the second in a series but you do not have to read the first to read this one.

If anyone could please recommend me: - a book which has a wholesome male-female friendship with no romance - a book to get me into sci-fi - a ficton book about life/people (sociology kinda) to make me question everything and change my view on the world - a book with a strong sibling bond - a dystopian book that is not that popular thank you💚
