In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. He chose the path of perpetual Vengabus. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace. And with boiling blood he scoured the Bumble Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. And those that heard the shred of his lute named him... the Orphan Slayer. **Cue Rip & Tear**

@@jocosesonata Is he, in that version, the slayer of orphans or the orphan that slays?? :)
@jocosesonata5 жыл бұрын
Could go either way, really. We don't really know who Dob's parents are, or where are they. He was raised solely by his sister, with no mention of his parents, so he definitely could be an orphan. _(Though in my headcanon their parents died trying to protect them, telling Suzette to run as far away as possible from an angry mob, while she carried the still infant Dob into the forest.)_ So, yeah. Dob either slays orphans, or is an orphan that slays. Eh, what the heck. He is an orphan that slays other orphans.

Ellen, Tiny tiny tiny, but important nitpick. The 1664-5 plague had burnt itself out (pun intented) by the time of the 1666 fire. what the fire did allow was for a more modern building plan (modern by 1666 standards, though they didn't let Christopher Wren go as mad as he'd like.) which helped prevent plague and fire in the future.

BOTW's breakable weapons mechanic didn't so much encourage me to try different things as it just ensured that my inventory was full of barely used, awesome, powerful items that I was "saving" for some impossible showdown that never came while anxiously slogging through the game with low-level garbage. Though, on the upside, I'm a straight-up assassin with a boko club.
@travisrolison96465 жыл бұрын
Yeah weapons breaking ruined the game for me. Instead of killing then I just avoided them. I also thought the recipes needed a boost, I mean what is the point kf making recipes with milk,rice etc and it's more expensive and less useful than just using like 5 meats you get free or even veggies you find.
@Jirodyne5 жыл бұрын
Breaking weapons, or armor, or anything is NEVER a good thing. Just look at Dark Souls series, where over time they just effectively remove breaking of weapons unless you're playing really long time without sitting at a bonfire to rest and reset it. A Company and Series all about balance and learning. And even they removed or dialed back on it hard. No one likes breaking weapons or armor unless it's a very rare thing.

was there no repair mechanic? diablo had gradual degradation but you could get stuff fixed. likewise with fall out - i liked its repair system because it "justified" my hoarding a bunch of loot because i could use low level weapons to fix up my equipped ones.

@@BattyButtercup yeah I mean botw had recipes and things to make fire etc I could have seen if they doubled weapon durability with the ability to make repair kits and things (like the Witcher). I dojn't usually comment before finishing the video, but that was the best first minute I've ever seen. Ellen doing a pikachu dance is the new best thing I never knew I needed in my life.

_"The Fire of London was a bit bad."_ ~Luke "Plague Master" Westaway. Massive understatement of the month.

There was another sling technique in which you put the rock in the pouch and swung in one large overarm swing (similar to a trebuchet swing of the rope) and using the rope to boost power instead of swinging it in circles.

"In sixteen-hundred and sixty six, old London burned like rotten sticks!" is the rhyme I learned as a kid, for what it's worth :P And everyone's got to love a good plague quiz...

Luke apologizing to the rubber duck for beaning it on the table is pure Dob-level sweetness.

The LoZ music during the sling challenge was perfect.

I'm so happy to see Ellen bring back her dance instructor persona!

We go from adorable to shooty shooty bang bangs to plague. Just a typical day with Ox Box. Oh, fun fact: of the 3 types shows they are in order of lethality with bubonic being least *insert Jane laughing*, pneumatic being second, and septsemic being almost assured death as Yarman can attest to blood plagues.

I don’t know why I’m surprised that a large part of the show was spent talking about deadly disease. Keep up the good work:)

I didn't know I needed that clip of Ellen dancing like Pikachu. But darn it if it didn't brighten my week up. Thank you Outside Xtra

Watching this at lunchtime was the absolute best choice I've made today. Thanks for that, love you!

In Luke's defence he explicitly told the skeletons "not to hurt or disadvantage anyone" while building the orphanage. I'm not sure how specific he needed to be.

as a horror film fan i find weirdly atrractive how grim and macabre Ellen become quizing luke about the black death

After Ellen says that she pays more attention cause it’s sparkly it makes me think she would have fun playing a Kenku in D&D.
