Love your videos bro, thank you. Quick question, we have acrylic paints as we're just starting out, is your course still applicable or would you recommend switching over to oils?
@Alex_TealАй бұрын
@@ronaldkawatsky407 Hi, I'll be honest - I'm not a fan of acrylic paints, for me personally they impose time restrictions due to quick drying, which I don't like. In addition, acrylic paints lose volume after drying, because they evaporate water, but oil paints polymerize (although we say "dry" but they are not actually drying). Also, acrylic changes tone (light-darkness) after drying, so at the time of painting you see not the acrylic color that you ultimately will get. But for starters, you can try acrylic, if there are no other options. Or due to alergia. Or the space lack. If you decide to go deeper, then oil paints are better. But this is my personal choice, after all, I work as a restorer of paintings. In my course, the 3 lessons are devoted to oil paints and solvents. Another difference between oil and acrylic is that in oil it is important to make "mixtures" - 3 or more colors of paint, if the paints are high-quality, then 6 different colors to create complex shades. In acrylic, it is advisable to do the opposite - buy more shades and mix less, because when mixed, the color turns out "so-so".

Hello, Alex.I am a new subscriber....are you using oil or acrylic? Thanks.
@Alex_Teal Жыл бұрын
Hey, you can use both in this technique, but I prefer oil because thay keep tone and structure after drying. If you use acrylic paints just try to make the painting lighter then it has to be. Hope it is useful :)

Hi! How long you’re waiting then the first layer will be dry?? =) Btw. beautiful video!! Thank you very much, for these videos!

It depends on the temperature in the room. Half an hour. You can also dry it with a hair dryer.

Beautiful video, but the pop ups & that irritating ding noise ruins it. I don’t think it will get you any subs. In fact, I kinda wanna UNsub now if this is the norm. You’re so wonderfully talented, your videos stand on their own., they’re awesome. You don’t need to pollute them; in fact, you’ll prolly get MORE subs if you don’t. All the best ❤
