This is a fantastic pattern for showcasing bigger patterned fabrics. I can’t wait to try it out. You make it look very easy, you are great at teaching and should do more of these tutorial type videos, even teaching basics for new quilters. Your sewing is very precise and it’s a pleasure to watch you create.

I never really understood the "Tula's amazing" thing until last week when I got glasses for the first time. Omg, Tula IS amazing and I have spent about $300 on her fabric in just the last week😍😍

Thanks Becca. I bought your pattern because I need a pattern that features fussy cut blocks and I do not have time to design it myself. It is for my step-son and his wife. I also try my best to support other creators as much as I can. I love this pattern. Blessings, Andrea

I'm in a stitch and flip coma right now in a current project ... but seeing more alternatives (and some more practice) may put this pattern on my list for the future. I do really love fussy cutting!

Using a triangle ruler or folded corner clipper would allow you to expertly cut the miter (with the seam allowance, the corner needs to have the 1/4" line running through it) that you need a save a few steps. A perfect framing for the lovely materials. A little less waste if employed a no waste flying geese method and then attach white strips of needed length. Negative is that it has more seams which may detract from the clean framing.

I love the pattern and your very thorough instructions/tips. I would have to do a lot of practice stitch snd flip sewing to get those angles right but I think it would be worthwhile. I am going to buy the pattern as I love that it is perfect to showcase fussy cut fabrics!! Thank you Becca!

This is like the Moroccan tile, although mine is a little bit different. And I had been working on changing it, just did some drawing and quilt maths (!) last week Your choice of the "hero" fabric is awesome. Great way to use Tula. Hugs, Chel 🌸

You can do it! Stitch & Flip can be a little finicky, but I find if I stitch *NEXT* to the line I draw, it comes out MUCH better!

Wow Becca - that is one of the best patterns I've ever read. It's well thought out, well written, and diagrams are perfect. I just bought it from your Esty store. I'm going to have to join your VIP program. Love the idea of the HST FPP and Flying Geese FPP patterns, you made that so easy. I'm a Clearly Perfect Ruler lover and those templates make HST's look like a dream to use and take that extra step out of squaring up the HST's. Now about this video. BRAVO for your use of the Tula Fabrics what you have done is stunning. I have the mint Hippos and didn't know what I was going to do with them - but now I know! I need to buy more of this line, the elephants, lions etc. Your pattern is all that and a bag of peanut M&Ms. Your tutorials are so much fun to watch, I did the Continuum quilt, I'm still hemming and hawing for the border - It needs a little zhuzh, I like what you and Tiff did. I'm thinking of doing a semi stair step/chevron pattern around the quilt, ending with a plain outer 6" border. I have so much left over fabric, I made a 2nd quilt with it. You definitely inspire me. I love with when you have your Mom, Mary, Ian and Tiff all together you make me giggle and smile while I'm watching or listening. I'll see you Friday evening! Teri G

@sandybruce9092
@sandybruce9092 6 ай бұрын
Just curious - why? Starching quilt fabric is almost a necessity! The fabrics handle so much better with a “light starching” - I do not do the soak method but use a spray. Not trying to be mean or trying to convince you, just curious
@virginiaharrison6711
@virginiaharrison6711 6 ай бұрын
@@sandybruce9092 because some people are insistent that starching is the only way to go. I do not starch - and most likely never will - but I don’t want to be told by anyone that starching is necessary. I’m fine with people mentioning that they starched the pieces but not that it is necessary. It is a me issue. I cannot watch Kimberly jolly of fqs because of her excessive use of starch. I guess we all have our own style of piecing and quilting. After 4 years I think I’ve found mine.

Everyone is entitled to do what they wish! Your project, your rules. Personally, I prefer to starch as I do find it helps. When I mention starching in videos it is to answer the questions that I know will come, not necessarily convert non-starchers. :)
