I'd really like to see the long term effects of steam. Taking a hot shower with steam is my concern. It'd be cool to watch Netflix or whatever while showering, but I've heard steam can get into your phone even if it's waterproof.

Dishwashers can get pretty steamy so you should be good

Thomas Jack Potter I don't know if you already got an answer to this, but depth tests seems to say that iP7 needs more than 20 ft for over 1 hour to be damaged. Doubt your shower can provide that much pressure even if these phones don't have IPX5 or IPX6 ratings. I searched for dishwasher because of water "jets" but since he taped it to the side I'm guessing they were not exposed to the pressured water streams directly.

Thomas Jack Potter. Yes sir! I tried it while switching songs when I was in the shower. The speakers immediately reacted to the water making my ear piece muffled. The speakers on the bottom of the phone were fine but I seriously thought I thought I broke the earpiece. Thankfully all it took was 20-30 minutes for the water to dry in the ear piece and now it's fine. So yes it is shower proof it but it might be a bit hard to talk on the phone without speaker going off the fact that my earpiece was immediately muffled. Other than that you can listen to music through the speakers and it will be just fine. This literally just happened 30mins ago because I too was curious about whether the I phone 7 is water resistant so I tried it out myself in the shower. Good to go!!

Thomas Jack Potter. lol and one more thing that should probably be considered is making sure the shower water isnt in contact with the speakers for too long because of the constant water pressure hitting on it. i could be wrong because i am no expert in this field but its good to play it safe. hope you hadn't gone to take a shower with your phone after my last comment until this one to be safe. cheers!!

WATER RESISTANT means if you drop your phone in water it wont die on your or be damaged you should NOT take a shower with your phone even if it is water resistant expect if your parents are rich af and they buy you whatever you want...

Did some research, decided not to risk it. Although so many people have tested and proved it's totally safe, I don't really want to wear down the water proof adhesive (if that is possible) just in case I do ever have an actual incident where I drop the device into water. It's also the price of the phone. Also, nobody says it's 100% to shower with the iPhone 7 and until that day, I'll shower alone.
