Shower tent awning install with DIY sliding rack

Have you tried fitting a awning shower tent to your roof rack only to find that it doesn't quite fit right? Heres how I overcame this problem with a sliding rack system for the KINGS shower tent awning fitted to my 2000 model Toyota Landcruiser.

Goes along with the 'make sure you're in a well ventilated area' while spraying paint after cutting freehand towards your wrist with an angle grinder. Neat job though! Good one.

You can actually buy RHS that slides inside itself from bunnings with a screw in it to lock it off when slid in or out. I use a bar like this to hang big fish on the beach to weigh them off my roof rack ;)

The way to find your angle grinder spanners is to buy new ones, nek minute the old ones turn up. It worked for me.

Nice work mate. thought maybe a locking pin might hold it in place when in or out. used them on a similar project and they worked well.

It’s still held on by a piece of rope. Going strong after a few years.
