For one, the writer of the diary is in her 40's, which means that even if the allegations in the diary are true, the Statute of Limitations has almost certainly run out on the crimes many years ago and no one can be arrested at this late date. Also, the writer of the material never came forward in past years and it's obvious she is NOT wanting anything to come out now. She could always simply say she imagined these things, or was drafting a fictional story as part of a novel, or screen play she was trying to write.
