curtis nicejob! Although I noticed that when you placed the blower back in you left the high voltage cables from the Heat strip kit touching the resistance, I think you did not notice that, they might be touching the resistance so when it turns on it might melt the cables and cause a short there.

That puppy just wanted to play, that's what they do. Nice job on that unit, it needed you so it could be done right. What a pain in the butt where those heater coils are. No filter at all, " is that a problem?". Yes, a problem, but not "the problem". In our minds, "stupid". Good call Curtis.

The wiring from the heater kit seems a bit unprotected. How do you assure all that wiring won't contact the heating coils?

Those electric furnace heating coils are indeed in sorry shape. That also appears to be a common Carrier design, for the heating element to be on the intake side of the blower. Rather in front of the air stream.

Before I would have bolted the fan box up I would have got those wires to the outside of the box on the left side. I would have zip tied those heat strip wires from around the back so they don't get too hot and possibly cause a fire

Package units sitting in the ground get so ugly inside. Even the condenser of a split system is so much cleaner when its on the roof.

Well i you have a 12 point ratcheting with. 15 degree bend wrench it would be a lot easier than the loggerhead polish wrench 🔧 all you need is standard seizes 3/8 to 7/8 and ur in like flint

Those are expensive heat kits to by the way. I put in a Tempstar they never gave me the heater kit, unfortunately I didn’t notice till I got to the job. I ended up having to pay for it twice because the guy at the supplier swore he gave it to me, he did not. I haven’t been back to that place sinsce. I’ve NEVER had any place do that to me before.

Sounds like you've dealt with this customer before. The point being you know the repair needs to be done and what they will approve so you might as well do the repair while your there instead of having to come back later.
