My dog did the exact same thing with a cicada one time. Except he didn’t spit it out. He really didn’t know what to do with it when he picked it up. Just stared at us while it rattled around in his mouth. When we tried to make him drop it we heard a loud CRUNCH. It stopped making noise at least. And Rascal got a little extra protein that day. There was a very good reason we named him Rascal. Within hours of getting him.

6:50 as a belgian, i now feel the need to clarify this. Dutch comes from “Diets”, which is an extinct language from which german and dutch came. German people do indeed call their own language Deutsch, and dutch people call their own Nederlands. I guess english people just wanted to avoid confusion with the similar names (dutch and deutsch), and so just went with german, somehow creating even more confusion

Fun fact: the town that I live in has an ice cream shop downtown called “sparky’s Ice Cream” and a long time ago when Cicadas were overpopulated, they decided to make Cicada ice cream. The health department obviously got on it but it wasn’t making people sick or anything, it was just weird. Although it wasn’t making people sick they decided to shut down that ice cream flavor, so you can no longer get cicada ice cream… but sparkys still stands :) This is random but the dog video made me think of it lol
