Aes just doesn't want everyone to know exactly what he's talking about because sometimes you have to want to information to truly hear it. Once you unlock it's nuances, there lies a pearl of wisdom.

I've been listening to Aes for a little over 20 years and still find myself in awwwwwww. He does most of/if not all of the art work. He literally can rap about anything and make it sound good. His cat kirby, my belly is about an 🦦 otter, long legged Larry are some of the songs my kids make me put on and these little knuckleheads no all the words. Thanks for the real reaction, keep them coming. Aloha🤙🏽

Aesop's allure is the replayability. Some songs get played out after you listen so many times ... Aes songs just get better, and you get smarter

Get yourself prepared for doing a lot of pondering. It's dense stuff and takes time to process.

Aes conjures his lyrics from another dimension. Another Rhymesayer you definitely need to check out is Sa-Roc. I would recommend starting with Bars on I-95 freestyle.

Great video, ya'll. Subscribed! I like what you were saying about feeling the lyrics every time you listen. I feel like Aes's songs actually reward you for listening to them over and over because you keep hearing new things in the words. Or you finally look up one of the words you don't know and your head explodes.

Check out 'TV on 10' by The Uncluded. (Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson). It's a true story told in such a poetic and touching way - but a very clear and easy-to-follow narrative. The setting was 'Tony's Den' - Tony being Blockhead. He verified and expanded on the story - someone reprinted it in the comments.

For some reason, I’ve always connected so strongly to the quatrain that ends “[…] it’s not even compelling melodrama / it’s a comedy; somebody wanna shop you as a saga / I’m very voluntarily persona non grata.” It’s not a particularly impressive line, but I suppose I just generally identify with the idea (i.e. rejecting and disengaging from modern/mainstream culture; though not necessarily society overall, of course) in what feels like a meaningful way.
