Elliot died in Flat 12, number 9 Curzon Place, Shepherd Market, Mayfair, London, owned by Harry Nilsson. Four years later, The Who's drummer Keith Moon died in the same bedroom, also aged 32 years.

Love this song, it's got that whole San Francisco Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair vibe to it. I really like this version, The first time I heard this song was in 1989 and it was a cover by the River City People which is also really good. It's one of them songs that you can listen to over and over. According to Wiki it says the song was based on someone that longs for the warmth of the LA sun during a cold winter in New York. According to Wikipedia, the lyrics speak of someone living in New York City on a bitterly cold Winter's day while dreaming of the warmth of California, specifically in LA, where the climate is described as Mediterranean - hot, dry Summers, and mild, sodden Winters. So, references to the weather _are_ about the weather, not a metaphor for someone going through a bleak, cloudy time in their lives, which we might expect within a song.

@@Lilly8Listens I was , maybe 11 or 12. I was home alone [ mom was at work], and it was a week day. Nothing on TV, except The Lawrence Welk Show. Ok, so I watched. He noticed someone in the audience, and had her come down. [ of course I knew the songs of the Mamas and Poppas , but knew nothing of the group]. So, this big huge woman makes her way down to the stage. He talks to her. Apparently she was on another set, and had finished, so she decided to come and watch. He asked her to sing, and she did “Dream A Little Dream “. [ I think she may have sang it a little more sexy than the regular recording - but….]. She absolutely blew me away ❗️ I could hardly believe that beautiful voice coming out of someone so “ big”. I’ve been a fan ever since. 📻🙂
