Ive been delaying playing this game for years because i didnt want to deal with its complexity, but I finally started it this league and oh boy its worth it... first 50-100hrs are rough because you literally dont know whats going on and what you're doing, but after 100hrs you start to appreciate the depth of the game. I of course still barely know what im doing but at least i know enough to understand the language of content creators. Its fun to watch someone who has played for 10 years and knows pretty much every trick in the book deal with the crafting and endgame of PoE. Maybe in another couple thousand hours ill get there myself. Cheers

Same hold off playing the game before but now addicted Also what felt rough for me at start isn't the skill tree but gearing specially socket colour and link

@@Aezthet1C There are afew tricks for that with the bench. So say you need three blue on an armour base. Generally thats impossible to do rolling one by one but if you use the bench you can have it in ten or so rolls. What you do is two sockets total first then use two blue and follow that with three sockets if it's red or green reselect two sockets and keep trying that until it turns blue. For 6 link armours with Off colours just use an Omen of Blanching and it will colour up to three sockets white for you.

What I've been doing for years is just pick one league mechanic and learn that instead of trying to learn everything. After awhile the items you receive from that mechanic will peak your interest in a different one. This keep the game fresh every league because with the league comes a new mechanic and the one you haven't played in years as your focus has been changed.

Learned a lot from watching Krip. My first league, I haven't played since beta. Im doing lacerate build but my biggest issue is picking up and sorting through too many items. im using very strict filter should i be doing something different?

Go by the filter setting descriptions, not the name, if that makes sense. Like if you hover over the 'Very Strict' it describes it as something like "recommended for higher tier mapping...." . 'Uber Strict', "T11+ mapping..." etc. If you are playing trade league, you basically want Uber Strict or a highly modified 'very strict' as soon as you hit red maps. Either way, suggest customizing your filter after selecting the preset or following a streamers filters. I know digging into filterblade settings is another thing to pile onto the game learning, but it is worth it. Tips, in my personal opinion (trade league): - hide all tiers of generic rares (there are separate rules for influenced, league mods, high quality bases, etc) -if you are searching for a specific base stuff, you can make a custom rule to show only it. Theres a tab under rares/items thats labeled as specifically there for you to add your own rules to. Use case: If you are looking for only t1 claws to craft/recombinate) - hide all scrolls and super low cost orbs (transmutation orbs are extremely cheap and vendor for stacks of scrolls) - hide the lowest tier of uniques (used to be high the lowest few tiers but with league mechanic to turn to dust, worth keeping even smaller C-tier (can be negated if you are running enough mappers) - go back and revise your filter as you find things are becoming useless/worthless (example, generic 6-link bases remain highly valued by the filter presets for most settings, but are only worth the fusing they vendor for at this point in league, or high lvl flask are great for early profit crafting but create a ton of floor litter when youve moved on)

@@William-t4k this is perfect! Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out! Everything you said makes a lot of sense. I'll make sure to go over filterblade a bit more and really tighten things up since trade is always an option for improvement

@@NokturnalMTG no problem. i also forgot to mention, when you are working on your filter, if you run into an item that you want hidden, pick it up and save it in a tab. you can a ctrl+alt+copy of the item and paste it into the filterblade simulator tab, and it will tell you what rule is allowing it to be visible. Same goes for hidden items. When you are making big changes, its a good idea to occasionally hit whatever your show items hot key is, and make sure nothing you want accidently got hidden. if it did, you can paste the item to find the rule to fix it.

My God. Kripp has better gear now in SSF than me following his build, in trade. He knows how to masterfully exploit the game for the benefit - that's why I watch him, to learn. He sees value in items I naturally dismiss.

idk if cold resistance on an axe is "masterfully exploiting the game"

His gear is pretty shitty when compared to trade. You can fund his build with like a few hours of farming and he took days and weeks

How long have you been playing? If you’re new that’s fine but if you’ve been playing for awhile, you should consider rethinking the way you approach the game

I lost all respect when you talked about how your PoB gear was "garbage day 2" gear. It took you like what, 2 or 3 weeks to get this level of gear? And the way you talked down on the other build you compared yours to. Just yikes. But at least the fanboys are, once again, buying every single word the streamer says.

I think I would choose the POB that has an accompanying video where the creator marginally downplays the gear rather than a POB where the creator doesn't understand how the mechanics of the game work, but thats just me.
