Universal care level is not the highest moral level of development. That is still grasping on an objective level. The Bhagavad Gita has a very important thing to say about this. One should act without concern for the outcome of action. To do so is conditioned action or reaction. It is not authentic. Do not confuse this with the egocentric level. Ask, what is saved or not saved by stealing or not stealing the medicine? If you answer, a life, you fail to see that which is not born, does not die. compassion can be a very sticky wicket. "I know whats best for you" leads to some very unintended consequences. I absolutely treasure Ken Wilber's wisdom. I have followed him for years. I will continue to do so.

no, the bhagavad gita is about acting with dharma in mind. As long as one does that one does not need to question one's self or ones actions. It is a visceral relationship with the truth. manifesting as love compassion courage chastity etc, each intrinsic to the other. Anything that challenges those things is adharmic and one should not feel bad about fighting it. Moreover, the gita is about defeating adharma within one's self.

Question on the medicine test: If stealing the medicine had the opportunity cost that if everyone who needed it just stole it, then it would not exist; would it then be selfish to betray the system that created the medicine? The moral judgement then becoming about the most people being saved over time. Would it transform the money required for the medicine from a simple ransom to something like the means for the medicine to be created? What does this say about the value of money or the system of values that the money participates in, compared to the actual medicine that is a byproduct of the system? Are they any different at that point and what are you actually stealing?Relevant questions as collective groups continue to mock and disfigure the idea of value and hierarchy in 2020

Whether you are aware of his model or not, eventually, development will lead a person's intention and attention to flow into all of these zones. And more. He is well aware that there is more and has spoken of this often. It's on us to discern it out.
