Nice! Thanks for sharing this, I wanted to ask you are all of these drawings the original ones you did or did you make copies to use for the portfolio and kept the originals?

I definitely saw here designs that are done by the other artists, so I can surely say there are copies in her portfolio. I don't think it's a good idea when applying for an apprenticeship, but a lot of tattoo artist are copying designs, so some of them may don't mind you are doing the same. 😬

I checked out your portfolio on your website it looks really good, there's so many different types of media in there it's amazing! I'm also currently thinking of going into tattooing and I'm trying to build up my portfolio as most of my artwork is mainly manga based style with some differences here and there How long did you spend looking for your apprenticeship and good luck to you!

Thanks for the kind words! It took me a few months to find a shop that took me in as an apprentice. I looked up all the shops in my area & if they had an email address I sent them an email saying I was interested, provided my online portfolio & other information. got rejected a few times but eventually the right shop got back to me! it’s different for everybody though.

What materials did u use? was it just reg pen or anything specific , or just what u recommend? and what paper :)

I used a pencil to sketch out everything and then depending on the piece I used ballpoint pens or fine-tip ink pens (micron, prismacolor, etc). i used water-based brush pens for colors since they blend together nicely. even sharpies can work. you can use anything! only thing i recommend is getting a sketchbook with paper that isn't too smooth. xl canson & strathmore are the brands i typically use
