The less you do this, then the less stress on the horse, and so the longer they will remain strong to still jump at older age in 20's

I love jumping and so did my horse. In fact in my riding ring at home she would jump without anyone on her back just playing. My boys won Grand Championship in State. Galaxey was a wonderful performer.

I just subscribed, and thank you so much for uploading this especially since there are on-air commentators. As a dressage rider who knows very little about jumping I reaelly need someone to explain WHY certain options worked and others did not. I find it very difficult to watch without someone explaining what went wrong , plus the little bit of 'color' i.e. background of the horse and/or rider really helps.

+Horsey Lovers kewl the horses I ride have rlly bad habits idk if I can learn that xD they like to lower their heads randomly and sneeze and stuff when their trotting
@shannonlynch62068 жыл бұрын
My horse does that too, if he's in canter and he's being a bit lazy and I'm holding a whip, he tend to sneeze and pretends to be ill and that. He actually isn't, when he sees a jump, he charges and there's no stopping him!
@kathbird15468 жыл бұрын
+Horsey Lovers cool I just use a crop and once when I was trotting I cropped my horse and then he was cantering and I was like what is going on

41:58 are we not gonna talk about how torn up this poor horse's mouth is? His tounge is limp and hanging out of his mouth. All these world class riders treat their horses like machines. A lot of these guys are hanging on their horse's mouths to balance as well.

WHY DOES ALMOST NOBODY PAT ME THEIR HORSES?! Like really? You just jumped over 1m with it and nothing? Are we gonna pat the horse? No. Are we gonna praise the horse? No. Are we gonna sit there and look sad because the jumps are crazy high and the horse knocked one down? Yes

At the last jump off, D. Lennon's horse is shaking his head like something is bothering him or is he just having a conversation with his rider?.
@ottblover13709 жыл бұрын
The horse is probably trying to fight the half halt.
@meganproffitt31359 жыл бұрын
+Vicki Olson Could be a number of things. Something could be bothering him, he could be bothered, it might just be a habit he has, or he might be having a discussion. Only the rider can really tell.
@MaritsView9 жыл бұрын
+Vicki Olson Do you mean the horse at 21:39? it looks like he didn't like the rider holding his head away from the jump.. like he runs forwards but his head is held sideways, imagine like, running forwards but with your head looking at the right. it's not really comfortable, as soon as she put the horse straight the shaking was gone but after he was bucking, they also can be extremely excited, every horse has their character
@vickiolson11989 жыл бұрын
Marit No, it was in the very final jump off near the end of the video.
@MaritsView9 жыл бұрын
+Vicki Olson Let me see if l can find it, maybe if you can give me like which minute it was, but the last final jump, l should be able to find it. 41:39 this one ? sounds like frustrating with the reins, The horse in the end was frustrated, because of her mood l think.. she also had 1 stirrup.. the horse feels her mood really well, feelings like anger,sickness,sadness

@robotssss36839 жыл бұрын
those jumps are way to high, the amount of strain on those horses front legs and spine must be immense. i cant imagine those martingales make it any easier.
@burningflamemc64548 жыл бұрын
+Robotssss A martingale isn't a piece of torture equipment. (If it's done up too tightly then that's something else.) It's supposed to help the horse balance and prevent the horse from getting too strong on their mouth. Plus, it's not about a horse jumping too high. If the horses couldn't make it, they wouldn't jump it. It's not like the rider controls them. They have a mind of their own and they choose to listen to their rider because they trust them. It's not unnatural for a horse to jump at this height. Try commenting when you actually know what your talking about.
@kathrynblount8437 жыл бұрын
the horses that jump this high are trained, bred, and ABLE to jump this high. plus, these horses don’t jump this height everyday. this level of jumping only trains the horse 2 MAYBE 3 days a week with plenty of time to rest and to do flat work. :)
