I started playing in season 8 and one tricked Taliyah mid until they changed her aoe and I barley have touched the champion since it felt horrible to play mid. I'm so excited to play the changed Taliyah, this rework is making me come back to League.

Sensible nerf would be a cap on worked ground (3 at a time maybe) and an increased cd on Q2. Shes mostly fair to play against at the moment but I think most the player base just hasn't realized her power shift as you said. Once you start getting dove at level 3 on the regular this winrate and playrate will start their downward trend

The only pain is characters like kassadin, zed, and kalista but they were awfully unfun to face no matter who you are.

So my opinion about the taliyah rework after facing watching and testing it, is its quite strong. The reduced cast time on the w makes it so even if I predict your going to throw it and walk without stopping its undodgable. It literally forces a dash speed boost such as ghost or flash. If e goes down before w you literally are just forced to take the l as she pelts you with damage you can't avoid. Her wave clear is absurd pre 9. Cooldowns are low as hell. Not mentioning for such a bad early game, casually spiking that hard off of a lost chapter to where you instantly outscale most damage sources in the game is just unhealthy. I've only faced it 2 or 3 times and tested it with a buddy a bit but it feels worse than facing reworked ahri pre nerfs. So I'm just gonna sit back and wait for a change with 12.10. :) For anyone who actually took the time to read all this thanks! Though take everything I say with a grain of salt as this happens with a lot of reworks and new releases :P.

I have played a ton of games with the new Taliyah, and I don't think it's that broken tbh, I think it's strong sure, but I wouldn't say it needs a nerf anymore than some other champions. You do not outscale almost every damage source in the game with a single lost chapter, don't know where you got that from. The E has a decently long cd, enemy can play around it and bait it. The E also doesn't work on a lot of different dashes, Yone ult and Warwick ult are just some examples of abilities that completely ignores the E and goes off anyway. Basically it's pretty easy to play around the E, but most people are still learning how to fight against her. You also definitely can walk out of the W, it's area isn't that big, it's just so fast you kinda need to predict it like you would a skillshot.

@@Aggerr You need around 380-400 ms minimum to walk out of the w watched a vod where I predicted it 3-4 times and attempted walking before it showed. It was inescapable at my ms... So to start with, that you have guaranteed cc unless you make a mistake rather thats not on your foe to outplay but instead you to misplay. Mind you I was playing viktor and had q ms active at the time its not possible to react to at least not on my 90 ms. Now for the claim that its not so strong that it would need a nerf over other champions and lost chapter isn't a massive spike outscaling most champs. lets run some numbers. I ran the numbers and your right lost chapter isn't a massive spike. Levels are. Lost chapter brought your 130 dmg lv one to 180 or something around there. 2 aditional points in q doubled it... oh forgot to mention you can still auto during q for near double dps if you were unaware. Lastly on rework rather than her winrate going into decline as new players pick her up and learn it it rose to the highest its ever been mid lol. atm sitting at a 52.6% winrate mid with a 14.5% of the community pressence. Don't get me wrong I agree its fun to face and play however it does scale really hard really fast for probably the strongest mid-game in the game. oh and your e does damage on contact now so even if they don't dash its still like getting an extra auto while weaving your combo... last thing I chose not to bring up until the end is her absurd wave clear. Your champion at lvl 5 - 6 (idk if you need lost chapter or not) one shots backline with just q. for the record most champions in the game have to wait untill level 9 with an item spike except for a few with ulti's like anivia or a kit built entirely around cooldowns and wave clear like ryze. Knowing riot they will nerf taliyah's damage to minions by around 25% similar to how they attempted fixing pyke at first. What I'm getting at is she's strong at everything she does atm. Her weaknesses are now covered by the e and sped up w. Sorry for the massive text wall but I tried being as non bias as possible here. for the record her combo does more than a xerath full combo at 5 also no main keystone with lost chapter. From the numbers her combo lv 5 with lost chapter was about 600 xerath is doing 530. this is without xerath having commet and without taliyah having electricute. If nothing else hop in practice tool and run the numbers yourself but the damage and scalings are insanely high. Viktor doesn't hit those spikes till 2+ items and 2 upgrades on his abilities... (This was just for reference)

@@JoshnS8n You need lost chapter at least to clear the backline wave with one Q, and even then that's assuming you hit all you Q shoots perfectly in the middle of the backline. I'm not denying her wave clear is crazy good, but I'm pretty sure it was as great, if not better before the rework, and it doesn't seem that unique to have great wave clear in general. As an example I don't think gp needs a lot of items before he can start clearing waves with barrels just as fast, if not faster. And he also gets bonus gold from it. I think zoe could prob "one shot" backline pretty early, as could Silas and many others I do agree that she scales very well, but so does most midlaners, and gp probably scales better and faster I'd say. Maybe you're right about the W thing, I just feel like from personal experience I have placed it right below the feets of peeps with no movement speed buffs and they managed to run out of it. I also feel like I remember doing the same while playing against her. It is also really not THAT much faster or bigger than it was before, and it traded all of it's damage for it. Her normal Q does less dmg than it used to, making her wave clear less good, but new boulder deffo makes up for that in single target dmg. And overall I just feel like her doing good damage is fair, considering 2 of her abilities, one of which is the ult does no damage. And her ult was nerfed considerably on it's range, she also lost a lot of her early roaming potential in general with passive changes combined with the ult change.

@@Aggerr thats what I'm getting at to an extent to start even though they gutted early game damage they gave her a ton of survivability and consistancy with a max mana buff w speed buff longer e and e has a stun on any dashes which more than half the champions in the game have. While your right other champions do scale well if not faster they have neiches that can be punished and used against them. Taliyah right now feels extremely consistant and hard if not impossible to punish a good taliyah player. Gp was a solid example you gave he only has a clense and a bit of ms and does quickly get waveclear but did you know he has to auto each backline twice at 5 before using a barrel with sheen proc for waveclear? as a melee? Meanwhile taliyah's half a screen away clearing and if you go to jump her she has 2 disenguages and a movement speed buff albeit small early... this is without crediting flash. I brought up wave clear as she has a lot shes good at and a quick aid or fix to playing against her is definitely a wave clear nerf. It's like I can't speak for how taliyah feels as I've only ran numbers and tested some combos in practice tool with her. But her winrate and consistancy seems too linear. It's like from my perspective when would you think a mid laner punishes your champion? Unless I'm one of the few exceptions to the waveclear rule that can clear before 9 like aniv or ryze how do I combat your weak early. Your champion has so much survivability that the answer is probably a JG gank in which as I'm sure you've played solo q, a 50 50... It's like don't get me wrong maybe I can beat it with yas and a bit of outplay but rn it seems like the most rewarding champ to learn and play in the game. Also don't mistake my intent in typing this I'm still playing this patch banning ahri and the matchup was fun when I played viktor into it. Maybe I just don't understand it fully or how to actually play into it. Maybe theres some way for me to stop your absurd wave clear into a mid game snowball. I really don't know for sure and this is just an outsider's take looking in... It's like if you want I got discord and we could definitely chat later

Taliyah's uptime was worse than other Battlemages since her damage was predicated on either WE or having enough space to use your Threaded Volley without interacting with worked ground. In extended teamfights, your Q would actually screw you, since you could only throw one rock, despite being a "DPS" class. That's why she became more focused on early skirmishing, so that she wouldn't hit the wall of her limitations and she'd just one-tap and burst you.

Like I said, her early game is very easy to punish, as she basically deals no damage, so an assassin like Zed or just a few ganks from your jungler can really put her in her place.
