Liberace's arrangements were often kitschy, corny, flamboyant, some times downright silly..... but executed them with sheer brilliance. He was a master of the keyboard. His technique was flawless. His precision was unmatched. He almost never hit a wrong note. He was just an AMAZING player.
@Lumibear.5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It’s just sheer showmanship. What amazes me the most is how rarely he looks at the keyboard yet he never misses a note. There’s obviously a lot of hard work and practice gone into his talent to entertain yet he makes it look effortless and fun. Gotta love him.

I like how he uses sound dynamics to project his playing so well. He can pound those keys hard and play softer at all the right times and building a crescendo when neccessay. His playing is very dynamic and vibrant that way. I love it.

After all these years, a lifetime of admiring the great Horowitz and Rubinstein I never realised what a great pianist this man was. such hands and magic sounds.
@johnkaylor8670 Жыл бұрын
It's funny, but you and I have had the very same experience here.
@jiannisDimi Жыл бұрын
its funny, cause this man plays nothing special, but light melodies with many arrpegios and effects... Nothing Substancial.... Rubinstein and Horowitz were masters... Can you compare a driver who drives on a highway on a straight line with another who climbs with a speed up on the hills? If you are not a musician, you think uau... a speedy master hier... in reality, he is a pompous piano player, nothing more...

Yes! An acoustic piano is a percussion instrument. A world apart from an electric piano or organ. They are not the same things. He fully gets it and that's called playing style (I'd say Joanne Castle had some of that, too).

Glass top piano love it! I had the privilege of seeing mr Liberace in 1977 he was fantastic! It’s not only his speed with his hands it’s also his foot work that is incredible giving his piano that extra distinctive sound that almost allowed it to speak! What an iconic figure he will always be remembered. Ps as an added note this was from the 60’s so the glitz with rings and extravagant stage costumes that we remember from the 70’s that Liberace and Elvis made famous had not yet been accepted by standard television . Boy do I miss those 70’s.
