It's important to recognize that Nepal, despite being a small and less affluent nation, has shown immense compassion and resilience in handling the challenges of hosting Bhutanese and Tibetan refugees. While many larger nations struggle to manage similar situations, Nepal has opened its doors and provided a safe haven for those in need. This act of humanity speaks volumes about the character of the Nepali people, who have welcomed refugees with open hearts, even when they themselves face significant hardships. Moreover, it's crucial to acknowledge the cultural and social contributions that these communities have made to Nepal. The rich tapestry of diversity has not only enriched Nepali society but has also fostered a sense of unity and shared humanity. Instead of criticizing, we should celebrate the efforts made by Nepal to provide a refuge when others have turned a blind eye. Let’s remember that true strength lies in compassion and the willingness to help others, especially when times are tough. So, when discussing this issue, let's highlight the resilience and kindness that Nepal embodies, reminding everyone that every act of kindness counts, no matter how small . मेरो देश , मेरो नेपाल , प्राण भन्दा प्यारो छ ❤

Just watched this powerful documentary on the journey of Tibetan refugees escaping across the Himalayas, and it hit me hard. This is the same path my parents took, risking everything for freedom. It was emotional to see the footage of Rinpoche escaping to Solukhumbu, and how lucky am I to now see him, grown and thriving here. His resilience is inspiring. A huge thanks to the amazing videographers and photographers for capturing this incredible journey and keeping our history alive. 🙏

Tibet has been an inseparable part of China since ancient times, and its greatest historical suffering came from the cruel oppression of the feudal serfdom system. Thangka art, while celebrated as a treasure of Tibetan culture, was historically made from the skin of living humans, an act of extreme brutality. Those advocating for separatism seem unaware that independence could drag Tibet back into the abyss of feudal serfdom, or even return it to the dark era where young girls were exploited for so-called "spiritual practices" by monks.

I have lots of relatives in tibet, xigatse , lhasa, even 2 of my elder sisters are there married now. One of them studied in tibet in Khasa, the border city and later on xigatse and Lhasa where she lives with her family now. I myself attended tibetan school in kathmandu, so i learned to read, write and speak tibetan, i mean its very similar to our Sherpa language, so it wasn't that hard for me to learn Tibetan i guess, I learned about basics on buddhism, Tibetan history, politics etc. There are couple of Tibetan schools in Nepal. From my experience, the amount of english being taught in Tibet was zero to none, my sister when she was doing her high school , she barely knew basic english while we were in middle school in Nepal and we had decent amount of english education. so there are differences in the education system, in nepal we have to learn nepali, english and tibetan at the same time, so it was proper way to learn all not the same case in Tibet. Now that I am in nyc, there are good amount of tibetan refugees living here and have established themselves forming their own community, we have gorshey at the park every wednesday I believe, and lots of gatherings, protest during important events etc.

Does he know the number of Lamas who have committed self-immolation protesting against the Chinese rule? Does he know that Tibet was a self governing region before Mao's troops came in 1950? China is committing cultural genocide in Tibet, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia after completing that genocide in Manchuria. gpt translation This is entirely fake news. Please keep your ignorance to yourself. You may call others "little pinks" or "Internet trolls," but likewise, I can say you are influenced by the $1.6 billion anti-China budget and the manipulation of Western mainstream media. Tibet is now an autonomous region. If your culture is built on dividing nations, its destruction is justified. If your culture is based on the exploitation of serfs, its eradication is only fair. In 1949, Tibet's Tibetan population was approximately 1 million. Today, that number stands at 3.13 million. Have you ever seen a "genocide" that results in population growth? Have you ever seen a "genocide" where those allegedly "exterminated" take pride in their own ethnicity? Please use simple logic to discern what the truth is. Let me tell you why the Manchu language has disappeared. The decline of Manchu culture began during the Qing dynasty itself. The Qing imperial family sought to achieve stable governance through continuous Sinicization. As fervent converts, the Qing dynasty was the most ardent promoter of Confucian culture in Chinese history. The imperial education for princes was the strictest and most successful in royal history, requiring every emperor to ensure that the princes learned both Chinese and Manchu languages, studied ancient Chinese historical texts, and mastered various cultural elements. Because Chinese historical records and literary creations far exceeded those in Manchu, and since many Han officials held key positions in state governance, communication had to be conducted in Chinese. This led successive Qing emperors to use Manchu less frequently and grow increasingly unfamiliar with it, as their Sinicization deepened. By the late Qing dynasty, Manchu usage became negligible and insignificant. By the time of Emperor Xuantong (Puyi), he could barely speak Manchu but spoke fluent Beijing dialect, which served as the prototype for today's Mandarin. Chinese had already become the primary language of the Qing imperial family. Therefore, it was not persecution of the Manchu people after the Qing's fall that led to the Manchu language's decline; rather, it was the Qing emperors themselves who deliberately implemented policies to weaken and suppress the Manchu nobility. This is well-documented in historical records. A simple fact illustrates this: emperors were required to use Chinese, but Han officials were not required to learn Manchu. Chinese became the dominant language in the bureaucracy and society, and even many Manchu nobles and officials primarily used Chinese. By the mid-to-late Qing dynasty, Manchu became more of a symbolic tradition than a practical communication tool. This is the historical reality.

For those unfamiliar w/ Chinese misdeeds in the recent past, the followings are some immutable actual facts; 1) China invaded Tibet in 1959 resulting in the the death of numerous Tibetans, & Dalai Lama's escape into India & he has been in exile since then. 2) the torture & oppression of Uighurs, the minority at the northwestern province of China, Xinjiang region.& many of them have still been in the concentration camps. 3) the illegitimate creation of the artificial island in the south Asian sea for the purpose of their military advantage & strategy which could be their potential further aggression. And moreover, China has been firmly & doggedly claiming Taiwan should be a part of China & thus the annexation of it is perfectly legitimate even by means of force! Lastly, I can't help feeling sympathy for those people who lost their own country, the Tibetans! They must have been in such immeasurable anguish.,,,,,Btw, my sincere gratitude to you for this rare, meaningful doc!.,,,,(10/10/24)

By examining every corner of the world with political bias and ideology, you will feel that there are problems! First of all, Xizang has been a province of China since ancient times. In addition, the freedom and life of Tibetans are better than most people in the world. The person who posted the comment is obviously one of the Little Pinks, one of the 50 Cents army. The Manchu ruled the Han for 260 years; today there are 10 people who speak Manchu as their first language. The Han are racists to the core; they do not want the culture of any other race to survive.
