"Soul Train" 🚋 and "Showtime at the Apollo" was a Saturday ritual back in the 90's/early 00's for us millennial people under 40. I used to watch "Walker, Texas Ranger" 🥋🤠🔫🛻 at 10pm on CBS 👁 and then leave it on the channel to wait until 11:35 for this to locally come on right after the 11pm 🕚 news at 11:30 pm. I used to watch this and Soul Train every Saturday nights. Oh, greater memories. Both of them are my favorites. What I really enjoyed about this show, is not only booing them bad amateur acts off that legendary stage, is that curly-haired lady by the name of Ms. Eva Isaac who be jumpin, screamin, gyrating her hips and rubbing on the R&B male balladeers such as Keith Washington, Keith Sweat, Full Force and many others. She was very fun to watch.

7 o'clock on Saturday nights was when my mom would pop popcorn and she, my dad, my sister, and I would jump in front of the tv and flip to our local ABC affiliate to watch Apollo. We'd laugh, talk, and just plain have a fun time watching the show! It was the one of the few times during the week where we'd watch something together. On Sept 12, 1987 It's Showtime at the Apollo broadcasted on CBS 42 WBMG in Birmingham Alabama As I'm just starting the second grade, I started watching this show every nights on Saturdays and still to this day, I remember the theme song and those lyrics I always came for the performances of artists and of course the laughable Amateur Night segment with the late Sandman Sims to get rid of the ones with bad talent everytime you heard that siren 🚨 then afterwards KiKi Shepard comes out and pick who's the best or worst Then by around I think 1994 or 95, they started adding the segment for kids and at the end of the day, they'll pick either one or two or even a tie This is why Showtime at the Apollo has always been my favorite.
