If eggman was the one about to be obliterated by the death egg he would have dipped and left his army(except sage and maybe metal) to die , meanwhile Bowser stepped in and protected his army from the beam Now that's honor

thats why i love Bowser's army more than Robotnik's. His army loves him and he knows he can rely on them and he'll even defend them, thats a true connection between a ruler and his troops. Bowser using the star after witnessing Jr take a heavy blow was also really wholesome. Bowser would destroy a galaxy for his son, NEVER forget that.

Bowser could've gone for the kill and save himself, but he jumped for his people. Also Sage using most of eggman's army as bullets against fury, yet Kamek use the pipes as defense instead of using goombas or koppas like her.

it is also why sage aimed at the army and not bowser he knew bowser was fast enough to dodge death egg so sage aimed at his army so bowser would protect it and take the hit

@krisdeltatraveler There's even a scene in, I think Super Mario RPG, where Bowser runs into a minion of his who left because they didn't think they could stop Smithy, so they were training in the hopes of getting strong enough to actually do so, and Bowser just told them not to worry about it and focus on getting stronger while _he_ (alongside Mario, Luigi, & Peach) dealt with Smithy. So not only is he loyal, he's also very forgiving and supportive of his troops. So in most cases I'd actually consider Bowser something of an Anti-Villain and more of a "Frienemy" to Mario, Luigi, & Peach, where his antics with kidnapping Peach might just be more of a "game" of sorts between them all. Eggman on the other hand is 100% a villain due to how untrustworthy and selfish he is (not being able to work with even another version of yourself should be a huge red flag in that regard). Those rare occasions when he teams up with Sonic are pretty much always a case of Eggman having literally no other alternative. It remains to be seen whether this will change now that Sage is a factor and that Eggman legitimately views her as his daughter though.

Mostly the reason time eater was not main stage is because in Paper Mario, Bowser is unaffected by time alterations so to not explain that they decided to just say "Dreamy Bowser would counter him" as if it would have mattered if they took that into account

I think Paper Bowser is a separate character, but considering regular bowser scales to paper bowser because Paper Jam, it wouldn't surprise me if he had the same ability

The storyline in this fight was so good. Eggman stages a fake wedding for Bowser just so he can take his land. But at every opportunity, Bowser protected his allies (the part where he tanks the Death Egg for his army is so good)
