I don't know why it is but us Americans choose to use characters that ain't in the top tier and that's almost all the top SF4 Americans players included, while Japanese players almost always pick the not so cool n not so sexy pic of getting top tier characters. Its all about winning to them no matter what, they don't think about what would or would not be cool last of all what anyone else thinks of who they pick. They pick the best characters,they give you the best chance ay victory. We see picking up tier like a copout, like its easier to win when you use the best and strongest characters so that's dumb, oh but we think if you win with a lesser character now that's impressive. Not smarty at all.The problem is they Usually dont win, and are always ay a disadvantage when facing stronger characters. Its bad enough possibly getting matched up with a smarter more talented player but on top of that your character is also weaker in a lot of areas compared to your opponents, maybe it's time we start s the strongest most broken characters in competition, even if it's not the cool thing to do. I think it has a lot to do withn our different mentality from that of Japanese players.
