2011, still the best Evo to date for SF4. Let's hope 2013 can bring the hype this year.

Whenever I read the comments under Evo videos, half of them are like "sure, X won, but in reality he sucks; I mean he never won again hahaha" Isn't that a major part of the appeal of Fighting Games, though? You can't just "be good" and always win. Even Daigo has to always keep fighting to keep winning. And at various points in time, different people deserve to win. I wish people could get over their collective favoritism and just enjoy the competition.

@Lionsblood LOL, you think the best player in the world, Daigo, who won multiple tournaments on the EVO tournament season, did not win because he needs Ryu and his moves? He lost because he was outplayed. That's all. Daigo has lost tournaments before with Ryu. He was outplayed then too. And you think Yun, the unanimously declared top character in this game, is not as cheap as Seth, the character with the lowest health in the game? Please, you have no idea what you're talking about.

@MrSav4life what r u talkin about daigo has a quite experience against seth, never had trouble beatin him with his ryu along with poongko, and he did not dropped ryu cuz yun is A+ tier he dropped him bc he was asked to by his sponsors.
@Gaasm12 жыл бұрын
Actually, it is a very interesting debat, because I'm what you can call an "athlete" (In international competition). And by my experience, you can show your satisfaction without being disrespectful. He didn't even shake his hand with Daigo, for example. Really, the aspect of "showing your satisfaction" does'nt bother me. It's his attitude who does.

Why were there so many vipers this year compared to the rest?
@dingusdangus9299 Жыл бұрын
Viper's most powerful version (ex seismo was like the perfect reversal) combined with the fact that most people had absolutely no idea how to actually fight against her at the time. So the people who were grinding her since day 1 had a big advantage. Ironically after this EVO you'd see way less viper representation in top 8's because it encouraged people to figure out how to deal with her. For example latif's next appearance would be in an exhibition against tokido where latif got literally 0 wins despite being the same guy who got second place at evo and also beating tokido at that same evo.

@DanielCanoVirus well i dont know exactly cuz im from mexico not from the states, now back here in mexico what happened to me i had to attend like 10 tournaments and i won 8 in one of them they came to me and asked some questions like if street fighter was the only fighting game i played i said no i played KOF MK MVC CvS Tekken Blazblue almost all fighting games, then i had to audition in those games with pro players and i did pretty good so that was it they said ok u r good enough.
@noless12 жыл бұрын

I think Poongko begged Daigo to let him win. Poongko : Please Daigo !! lemme beat u plzzzz Daigo : WHY ?? Poongko : I'll let u jiggy-jiggy with my GF if u lemme win Daigo : Huhmmm?! Go on then Poongko : Ty , Ty
@BusterGrimes_13 жыл бұрын
@MetalheadSen Yes I certainly think so. However, it does not mean that it was the ONLY factor. I know very well that he was outplayed too. So that's two contributing factors to his loss, that I already know. And as for low health, people need to stop with that argument. A fighter can have low health but what difference does it make if they can EASILY beat up on and confuse their opponents without much effort from the player at all? THAT makes fighters cheap. Not necessarily the damage output.
@MFCirca13 жыл бұрын
If Daigo played more arcade mode, he could have beaten this Seth.

When people get miffed at athletes in various sports for "celebrating too much", I'm the type of guy who is all for it. Not necessarily showboating, but I can understand how hype you can get in the moment. But if that's how you feel I won't knock you for it.

@hongeeee Yeah he better get Ryu. The showcased matches with Daigo losing pretty much proves one thing....that he and most other players like him, need those magic hadoukens and shoryukens. So for his sake I'd say he would need to get Ryu too. ha ha ha ha
