Speakers : Dr Mmoto Masubelele & Avhavhudzani Phophe
A South African National Parks webinar, in partnership with the SANParks Honorary Rangers.
News of floods, torrential rain and droughts have dominated the news this year. With KZN still picking up the pieces after recent flooding, we ask if global warming is to blame and what we, as ordinary citizens, can do about it.
South African National Parks (SANParks) has committed to reducing its carbon footprint, aiming to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Dr Mmoto Masubelele & Avhavhudzani Phophe, landscape ecologists at SANParks, will tell us more about SANParks’ Green Energy Strategy and will discuss the surprising effects that COVID-19 had on emissions in our national parks.
Most importantly, they explain how we, as ordinary citizens, can assist them in achieving net zero by 2050.
