The problem is most of our engineering colleges are focused on placements and CGPA than allowing students to experiment with their original ideas ( if at all they have any). Because sometimes until unless you come up with 100 bad ideas, you cannot come up with 1 new idea. Focus should be more on brain storming and problem solving than having to sit through boring lectures.

But here the professors, chairperson, students almost everyone are toxic as fuck. They will not let others grow , they will not grow. Just try to go up to them and explain your unconventional ideas, they will laugh at you and will not take you seriously. No innovation, no creativity. Everything here is based on grades. Want to get into a club , you need to pass some test. Want to conduct research with professor, you need a good cgpa. Don't expect your professors to respect you if you don't have such a good cgpa. You want to survive in this shit University you have to suck dick. The only bright side of this university is placements/ hackathons. It is an extremely toxic environment that will try to bring you down. You don't know how much I feel like crying for being trapped in PES , I have nowhere to go.

Yes, there is a gap. Companies expect to hire highly skilled individuals, while our colleges are producing graduates who may not meet these expectations. Clearly, not everyone can perform like a top candidate. Nowadays, many colleges operate primarily to receive government funding, and it's no secret that some are controlled by politicians and mafias. Their primary goal is not to produce high-quality engineers but to profit personally. Edtech companies are stepping in to bridge this gap.

What I figured out: Students must work on self.. Employers must employees select on competency basis and not on degree basis Employability skill must include resume writing, scanning for opportunities, Engineering education must include study 'ON' engineering so that students understand the disciplines and the prospects Workplace culture matters in choice making.... at Microsoft seeking and giving help is encouraged and at Google - entrepreneurial spirit is supported Learning skill such as coding is good... but creating an expectation on future basis the skill is questionable - coding must be learned to guarantee minimum employability. AI is a tool, .. it cannot replace a software developer.. use AI as a tool - very nice perspective shared by the guest. Students must become problem solvers instead of coders - good advice! Good teacher knows the problems of the students and empathise, effectiveness of teacher is about relatedness.. Education must relate knowledge - Skill with job and employment... I grew in company of hunter, farmer, carpenter, smiths, barber, Cobbler, meson, electrician, workers etc. I watched and learned their skills. Made hobby. Made tool for me. Didn't money to buy. This help me to become good problem solving engineer. In contrary my son is also engineer who cant tight screws in wall, cant join electrical wires, cant apply M-Seal. Issue is he dont hav genes of techie mean he don't hav like and attraction of tech stuff from childhood. I clear find diff in him and me. He took engineering because he learned life is good after degree.

Few points I feel are worth jotting down: A)I feel the idea of Education is way too much oriented towards fulfilling the requirements of the Industry. The idea of Education should be more focused towards the essence of imparting knowledge, not just providing jobs. B)Knowing should become the central theme, Institutions should focus more on providing the atmosphere for the student to quench the thirst of curiosity. Application of that knowledge will eventually happen as the student dives deeper into the subject. C) And above all, Human intellect just want to know, it is very much possible that the knowledge might not find its application/utiltiy, and that should be fine. This would create the space for Exploration. Every individual is born Genius, only question is whether it finds the expression or not in the given Environment.
