Can’t wait for this to come out! 🖤 EDIT: definitely very, very helpful lesson. I can confirm myself that playing tense is one of the things that are going to ruin your stamina the most. My playing has experienced a dramatic change once I understood how important is to REALLY relax
@stephanforte4 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! :) Yes, being relaxed is definitely the key, it's not easy though, you need to really be focused and aware of everything going on when you practice. Practice well my friend, and thanks for your comment !

Recently I discovered your music and I love it. And now I discovered that you're a good teacher too! Your first advice about relaxation/tension control is gold. I don't know why some of the best players out there never commented on that. I suppose it's because, for them, it's something obvious. However... thanks for this video and your awesome music!

Great lesson, thank you Stéphan !!! Tension was my main issue, I have started to be aware of that just a month ago and sicne then my playing has improved dramatically. Something really cool that I am doing when I face a very intricated picking pattern is to practice the right hand only with muted strings, and one it can go up to tempo I add the left one. Sometimes I practice even the left hand alone, to be sure that it's not undertrained in comparison to the right. Looking forward to the next video, live well with the people you love man

Nice strategy, left hand alone practice is one of the most efficient! :)

I loved it; I realized that some of them I had already incorporated in my playing throughout the years by self-practice and experimentation since I am mostly self-taught but I think it was great the way you pointed out those in a really effective way especially from your standpoint of such talent and experience. Thank you Stephan, you are definitely one of my most favorite guitarists of all time and I wish you had been more recognized since I believe you deserve far more attention and recognition but you still manage to be humble and down to earth. It's really heartwarming to see that combination of talent and humbleness

I think that the difference between playing fast and slow is that youre not using the same muscle fibers.. so that is why you need to practice slow at first but then practice fast and calibrate at high speed because those are different fibers you have to train

Stéphan Forté I am confident it will. Have you ever thought of talking about whammy bar technique? I know that is something I always struggle with. Trying to get those Becker sounds is hard. Not sure if anyone else has trouble but just wanted to put it out there. Thanks for replying Stephan.

@stephanforte4 жыл бұрын

You're very welcome Lars :) Here I use Line 6 pod farm 2 and just recording with the cam mic so you guys can hear the attack
@LarsBauer744 жыл бұрын
@@stephanforte nice! thank you! do you also use POD Farm (or other software amp sims) when you record your albums? or do you use a hardware amp modeler? or do you mic a real amp?
@stephanforte4 жыл бұрын
@@LarsBauer74 It depends, I like to reamp with my Mesa Mark IV heads, but for tracking I just record the DI signal and monitor it through my presets on the Pod Farm
@LarsBauer744 жыл бұрын
@@stephanforte thank you! very cool idea. recording a DI signal leaves you with a lot of flexibility if you want to change the amp tone after recording. I'm sorry I have all these question, but I have one more: what audio interface do you use when you record your guitars like that?

@stephanforte3 жыл бұрын

Merci.
