Wow, nice bike! I checked their webpage, the batteries are pretty well crafted, good to see they not just put everything in the box, but they insulate everything tightly. Maybe one thing I would change if I had money for this bike is to put the battery to the lower tube so I could grab the bike by the upper tube (as I usually do with my analoge bmx), and with this step the center of gravity would go lower as well which is always a useful thing.

The grade 9 titanium tubing used for frames is less stiff than the heat-treated 4130 steel we use. But if the steel weren't heat-treated, they'd feel similar.

Shreddie is right - the steel has less flex/is more stiff. But the titanium shaves about 6lbs, is rust proof, easy to polish, can be anodized, and looks killer.

At 3800 watts, the Chimera wins any race, and it wouldn't be close. But the Zooz has more range, and is much more comfortable for seated moped-style riding. The Chimera is designed for a more aggressive BMX riding style.

The motor is IP53, which is common for ebike motors. Not ideal for riding regularly in heavy rain but can handle moderate or occasional rain. Every other component on the bike is IP67 or higher, including the battery, which is fully potted.

Surrons are dope! But most people who buy one immediately upgrade to ASI controller, Molicel battery, and Magura brakes. For $2890, our bike comes stock with all of that, plus Kenda tires, sun rims, and all hand assembled in the U.S. to the customer's order. Plus you can't toss a Surron in a hatchback or jog up a flight of stairs with it like you can with this.

Hello internet person. The price for the Shadow Chimera is $2890 with $150 off using code Shreddie. It's a bike hand assembled here in the U.S., including the wheels, transmission, thermally potted Molicel battery pack, etc., and high-end components; Magura brakes, ASI controller, Sun Rims, Kenda tires... If you have the time, you should research the costs of these components, and manufacturing an entirely new drivetrain and 4130 heat treated steel frameset in small runs. It's expensive.
