What’s a shielded trail feature?

Things like the berms that use stone as the riding surface. The idea is to build up a solid surface that will erode less in areas where erosion is problematic. Places like bench cut trails into steep hill sides, berms, and even jumping surfaces are ideal for this type of trail construction as it changes the ratio of maintenance invested vs smiles generated shredding.
