Like everyone else I started with the cheap lights and had to upgrade to Shredlights, hope this saves people wasting money on crappy lights 👍

i've had every one of those lights beside the backfire lights and they all broke that's why after getting shredlights im never going with any other branded lights , they have been reliable time and time again. And they have a great battery life for size and it's just a great amount of light. Definitely interested in any new lights that you guys release next.

I love Shredlights for their endurance as well as dirt- & weather-proving. However, don't think you need a 1000 lumen or more in traffic. Blinding People with your lights doesn't make you any safer and (with regard to board-mounted lights) neither does blinding yourself by turning the first few meters / ft around your board into a massive reflection. I have both the SL-200 & SL-300 and I never turn them up to the max, except for my Helmet light (which I can adjust on the go). I only max the Helmet light, if I'm out in the middle of nowhere and complete darkness and for seeing the road, the 300 is perfectly fine. Again, this advice is only for use in traffic (on electric skateboards).

Thanks shred lights i own a few sets of shred lights for my different boards and I love them. I will say that I had problems with my SL-1000 going into lock out mode every time I turned the light off. Both of the side buttons need to be held for about 5 seconds every-time I turn the light on. When I turn it off it defaults back into lock out mode.. not great. You have very good communication and customer support and you sent me out another light but it started doing the same thing a few weeks later so I gave up on it and just use it as is. I would Purchase again regardless but if you can fix the lock out mode issue with the SL -1000 that would be great. I will add that the 3M dual locked helmet mount works great very strong I’ve bumped my helmet on Many things and the light won’t won’t fall off. I’ve got 4x SL 300 and 4x Sl-R1 lights and haven’t had a problem with any of them. They fit just as tightly in the mounts after 800 miles.

as much as I like brightness, I do wish the SL-1000's could be diffused more. having them on the front of my board is like shining a highbeam directly into oncoming traffic, even when i have them pointed down. is there any chance you guys might be developing more lenses for it? the lense screw cap is really handy on that thing but seems pretty underutilzed considering the diffusers don't do too much in my experience.

Thanks for the feedback! We understand where you're coming from. The best solution is to use lower brightness settings when riding into oncoming traffic and using a helmet mounted light for seeing ahead. We also have a medium diffuser which broadens the beam and decreases glare more than the included narrow diffuser: shredlights.com/products/sl-1000-diffusers?variant=41100053381305 Hope this helps!

⚡🤙🏼 *Dont waste time with cheap lights,* they just break, no warranty, nothin 🤙🏼⚡ Backfire lights the mount cracked, forged they claim, forged from bread crumbs, no warranty replacement, they didnt care. Nice light until it breaks. Save your time n money, get Shredlights from the start, top notch service, people need to factor in customer service into the price - awesome service when you buy directly from Shredlights.
