Even though Steve Cab was born in a so-called Christian family he didn't really become a committed Christian until about 15 years or so. He was actually a Buddhist for most of his adult life and he has openly spoken (you can find it on youtube) about searching for truth and feeling empty on the inside until he found Christ. He goes to church weekly with his wife and kids and talks about his faith on his website. He is an amazing role-model and an example of what a true pro should be!!!

It's weird thinking that 'street skating caught fire in the late '80s/early '90s'. I started skating in '84 while flipping through a surfing magazine my brother grabbed at a trade show and seeing an ad with a picture of someone skating. I'd go to his shop and take off with the locals to skate anything we could find, none of which were ramps of any kind lol. We'd hit parking blocks, twinkie curbs, this gorgeous white 'curb' we called "the White Curb" outside a local police station, stairs... having no idea we were just a blink behind the forefront of revolution. I mean, when Gonz and Natas started hitting rails we were like "ok, like this?" haha. Now I don't give a damn about current skate culture, but it's sure nice to see videos like this that take me back. Now I'ma go skate. Cheers!

In the late 80’s skaters actually wore Air Jordans. There wasn’t much in the way of skate shoes then, maybe Airwalks or Vision Street Wears were out not sure, but when I first got into skating in 1986 it was Converse All Star Chuck Taylor shoes, at some point Nike Air Jordans, & then sometime Airwalks became the first actual skate shoe, followed by Vision Street Wear.

I always thought Caballero meant “Mexican dude” in Japanese. So he was Japanese? George Peralta seemed like he would have ripped the kids off if not for Stacy. He thinks like a non profit organization. After paying themselves comfortable $500k salaries then it’s all for “The Kids.” “You make a nickel a board on top of you team pay!”
