I honestly can't say I have ever seen a shrew before, even in a picture- that I recall. Strange, I know... lol... but what a cutie! :) I love the video, he seemed to just say 'Hi!" and grab a quick snack before heading back out. Love the title, too...Shrew on my Shoe. lol. :)

I love videos like this. At first I thought you have to save the shrew. In the end I was very surprised. What a fearless swimmer!

Hah, what an image. :) With his sideways captain's hat and telescope, barking orders to the crew. Good one Mika.

Incredible! It's so tiny. He came to you and he ran away from you!!

Thanks Mika. He can swim very well and fast for his size. Bring your boots and let's go explore. Thanks for watching.

This was only the second one I'd ever seen in person (or shrewson). If it hadn't been flooding we never would have met. The other one ran out from under a bottle cap when I picked it up, about half the size of this one. They are so small and shy, you could walk right by them all the time and never know it. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching, Mike.

Yes ma'am, I thought it was a bug at first. Only the second one I've ever seen. That's funny about the spidered canoe. Talking about out of the frying pan and into the fire. That must have been in Florida. I fell into a river here with gators and it will make you want to do a Jesus for sure. That is a great face, all pointy and pink with whiskers. This is one case, another is people jumping from bridges, always carry a camera. Thanks for watching Luci, Michael.

I heard about your flooding, was wondering if it was in your area. Much rather have shrews than those bad ass snakes you have there. Your wildlife is like no other, you need a mongoose. Thanks for the visit Dex.

Not bad idea! He can be captain on the deck! :)

Yes, it was very at home in the water. Just looking at it on dry land you wouldn't think it would be that good in the water with those little legs. Thanks for watching.

For something so small to show no fear, very unusual. Glad I could share, thanks.

It would be fun to have to carry around in your pocket and feed, except for the venomous bite they have. Probably why you don't see them in pet stores. Thanks for watching.

Thanks, this is why I always carry a camera, you just never know when you will meet a shrew. I thought it was a vole at first and definitely didn't know it was venomous. One bite won't kill a human though, just a painful sore that last a few days. He was eating organic debris out of the cracks in the road. They still have to make a living, even during a flood. He looked like a wind-up toy when he was swimming. He was on a mission for sure. Thanks for watching.

Michael, this is a really cool video catch. Did you know what the critter was at the time - before you stuck your fingers down there at it? I've heard of shrews, the critter-kind as well, but never knew these little ones were venomous. The little thing is like a little teeny motor-boat zooming out across that roiling water. I admire fearlessness - in critters & humans. What did you suppose it was snacking on, some kind of little energy boost, I'm sure. The little guy seemed to have a plan. hoot

He is very fast! I think a boat is more useful there than boots?

Yep. That would be a great pet. No venom would be good for me too.

Nice video! Your friend is great swimmer also! I think you need rubber boots there? :) Thanks!

I've always wanted to ask this question: who clicks on "dislike" and doesn't explain why? Are there some who just go around hitting the dislike button because it suits them to be "anti" or are they cowards with their critiques? I just thought I would ask that question here because I haven't seen anything on this channel to dislike - at all. hoot
