Shrewsbury buildings and history of medieval town | Shrewsbury Shropshire

Take a tour with me in Shrewsbury in my Transit camper to see some forgotten buildings and history of medieval town of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. I have placed buildings in their approximate locations as I drive through the town of Shrewsbury. A huge thankyou to the several Facebook groups that have helped with this journey and history of Shrewsbury (See links below) and also to my local newspaper The Shropshire Star for providing a public online archive search to help place the buildings and find some pictures. (link below)
I want to be varied enough on this channel to create content for several groups of people to help build my channel and the history of my town, Shrewsbury in Shropshire in the west midlands of England, is something that has always interested me. Please feel free to comment on the placement of the now lost buildings of Shrewsbury as I certainly don't claim any high accuracy as there are lots of much more specific channels and websites that provide that information.

Hey Andy the sprinter man, yeh it’s a beautiful town. The thing that spoils it for me now is all the for sale, to let and massive signs stuck to buildings in the town. When I’m mayor thats gunna be banned, no signs and only one business sign over the door, would make such a difference to the look of the town. Cheers for watching

Definitely Nev, such a beautiful town. I just wish we had kept the 60’s and 70’s councils more restrictive in their crazy decisions to ripp stuff down. They really tried to wipe it out with their vision of beauty back then. Appreciate your comments brother

My dad used to manage the granada social club,and I used to work at mcfisheries on pride hill,really miss the place,having only occasionally been back since the store closed and I transferred to wallsall,now in lincoln with family commitments so can't really move back

So many Shrewsbury Council officials and planners over the years should have been strung up for the destruction of so many beautiful buildings inthe town.Some must have received back handers

100% Lotty, Shrewsbury was absolutely destroyed in the late 60’s and 70’s, buildings torn down under ridiculous ideas that they were unsafe. Places like York etc are so beautiful because they left them alone and took pride in their history and preserved their heritage. Shrewsbury is beautiful but it could and should have been so much nicer. Well said 👍🏻
