What I like the most in Shreyaji is her deepest respect and love for Lataji as well as her contribution to music!!! That apart, the entire music industry from south is in awe of Shreyaji, due to her flawless pronunciation of the lyrics in the language, in which she records her songs without losing sur and melody! Our culture and traditions are rich. In our Tamil community, we have respect for the brother of the mother. Thai mama. Maternal uncle's respect is much appreciated in every occasion of the child. Seeing the same kind of respect and responsibility of the maternal uncle in Bengali customs. Lovely 💖

It is same Northern states....like Punjab, Haryana too. In Punjabi mom's home is called Nanke. Mom' s brother is called..Mama ji (ji is a word used to show respect esp towards your elders). In Sikh families when a boy get teenage , there is a ritual called Pag Banai(Turban tying). First turban is given by the Nanka family esp Nani (mother of the mom). When a girl gets marry her Chuda rasam (red kind of bangles worn by brides in Punjab and Haryana ,in Punjabi origin communities in India irrespective of religion) is brought by Mama ji. Nannki shak , when a child born.. The last clothes of a woman when she does after birth is of her maternal home.
