Nandhanar was an untouchable. He was not allowed to enter the temple. But, he has composed pasurams in praise of lord shiva. He is a Brahmin in every sense of word. You don’t have to do sandhya Vandanam if you are not initiated into the process. There no restrictions in chanting mantras. It just requires pure mind and please make sure that you get your pronunciation correct. My mother tongue is Tamil. I cannot read Sanskrit. Only way for me to learn properly is by listening to people with amazing Sanskrit pronounciation like the chellakkerre brothers. I wish I can meet them in person to give them my guru dhanshina.

Recital is very good except one common mistake. I see a mistake in this recital it should be alakshmeer me nasyatam tvam vrune and not lakshmeer me nasyatam tvam vrune.

It is not a common mistake bro. It is called the avagraha sandhi where the first vowel is not explicitly recited. Learn up the sandhi rules of veda chanting.It is also called akara lopa.

If you leave a break where the avagraha sandhi S appears then the A is pronounced. Considering the flame war going about who is allowed to learn veda's - it is mostly because of the misunderstanding the nuances of many statements attributed to the past, you can learn properly something only if you know the basics. Most in India who have license to drive don't know the basics of following traffic rules but does it prevent any one from driving? If you are yourself Paramathma and if you are ignorant of that fact by the vasanas, then what difference does it make whether you recite veda or not, you will remain paramathma or jeevathma - why should it matter to a paramathma who recites or not.What will a paramthma do to himself?
