My partner has no right to know what my friend or sibling or any other person shares with me (which has nothing to do with my relationship with my partner) and expects me to keep it a secret. I don't share close relationship only with my partner. I have to maintain integrity in my other relationships, too. It is not practical to allow each other to have access to each other's emails or chats or call logs. In earlier times when we used to receive letters through post, we would never open any letter addressed to any other person in the family. The same respect and trust must be observed in this digital era as well. Besides friends and relatives I may be under an obligation to keep secrets of my clients or patients or my employer. So checking each other's mails and call logs and chats is neither proper nor practical.

I think you just missed his point, he said everything that concerns him and you both as a couple. He is not talking anything about someone else's personal matters. Just because you hold someone's secret, it's not yours ok. If you think monogamy is a farce, then this is not for you.

The only thing I don't agree with in this video is transparency...Well, couples must of course be transparent with each other, but transparent about each and every thing? About even the secrets that other people tell us? I don't think so... For instance, let's say you have a very close friend who has lost a job and is depressed, and confides in you about it because he trusts you, because you are his very close friend, and doesn't want you to share this with anyone. Should you still share it with your spouse? I don't think so. In my opinion, this would be completely wrong, and would be breaking your friend's trust. What your friend has shared with you is something pertaining to his life, and has nothing to do with your spouse or with you and your spouse's life or relationship together. So your spouse actually doesn't have the right to know your friend's secret. Your friend has the right to decide who should know how much about his life...after all it's details pertaining to his life... What is your opinion?

My husband started deleting chats which he ahd with his female colleague ..day n nights chats after my delivery when I was in mom's place ended up having relationship with her ...n hid n locked his phone ..I could find out only after 10 long years...when questioned before was shut my mouth saying she has tied Rakhi n like my sister ...she became friend his special friend n later his life ..but eh doesn't want me to give divorce n go n marry her ..but wants to stay with me...three years later I m still trying to come out of this trauma.. n elders will not support females n put too much pressure on us saying we have kids especially daughters ..men better change

​​monogamous is fine It is needed for relationship to sustain...what is he talking is about micro managing partners behaviour..which no partner would agree...everyone has their private space..they have their talks with their friends which need not be sharedword by word to partners.partner is not a mother to report everything with whom n what we talk .but both partners should know where to draw boundary when they have friends of opposite sex.but invading privacy of others not giving space to partners will give rise to crack in relationship.
