Wow! I have to write a paper on structuralism and functionalism and I feel like I just hit the jackpot by finding your video! ThIs was amazing! Your explanation helped me to thoroughly understand these schools of thought which up to now, totally confused me! Your use of a car to describe S & F made it crystal clear! If you were my professor, I know I would have a much deeper understanding and be able to retain so much more. You need to be teaching as a career (if not already). I seriously would watch you explain ANY topic (even math) because you break it down in such simple terms that we can understand, and that makes the subject so much more interesting! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, and PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS!!!

In the philosophy of mind, psychophysical parallelism (or simply parallelism) is the theory that mental and bodily events are perfectly coordinated, without any causal interaction between them. They do coordinate but not in causal interaction.

Very well explained it's so useful to hear actual examples. Just reading the textbook definition made it seem to be so confusing, but it's really not hard to understand when you explain it.

ur bless man, it gave me a general understanding before writing my essay!!
In some sense functionalism is assisted by neurology and behaviorism. In that emotional and mental stimuli cab be predicted and mapped by brain scans, to some degree or by conditioned or unconditial responses. But it's true, social science is dealing with subjective experiences but also it is grounded in data and data analysis and is grounded in some concrete observations and/or experiments and technological research also. Which is where it gains it's scientic credibility. My second major is in psychology but I am studying a Bachelor in Social Science more broadly in the aspect of social structure and social services, as opposed to psychology as a specialist. Still it is an important topic to any aspiring social worker or social scientist. In any social science field as a scientific field of study. Though yes, one could psychology is based less on empirical certainties and absolutes than other more clearly refined areas of science. It my first year also. Very interesting analysis. Very detailed. Not too broadly put. Not to convoluted either.

Respected sir video was awesome but i had a question about structuralism that if titchner added images in the elements of conciousness than how i mean why he talked about pure concious experience here he is focusing to forget the images he introduced....?

Pardon are you sure structuralism that separate mind with body? Not functionalism? Cuz in behaviorism in order to see or study behavior the mind should not be counted in(western psych) , just functionalism is the reason of the behaviorism development. Please correct me now okay

You made a fundamental mistake explaining structalism. There is no real antagonism between structuralism and functionalism outside of a non-STEM mindset.
