Very watchable. Love this format. Beautiful lathe work and explanation. The little Lotus and Metro were a delight to see, and the old boy (Ben?) was great to listen to about his hill-climb exploits. Good to see Bergerac and his missus' little FIAT/Ferrari. Brilliant video. Ant.

I use the Rode Wireless Go 2 mic, and I see them used a lot on KZbin. They are not too expensive and give good audio. There is also a two mic option, making it easy to interview guests. I use mine with an Android phone through an optional cable, but I know iPhone are supported too.

Thanks Andy, I have learned not to throw the 930 crank that sits on the shelf away. At least I now know it is useable in a road engine once converted.

My mates brother won an award from FIAT for working out the quickest way to do a timing belt on those 5 cylinder engines. Previous to his big idea cars were being written off when the belt went because the labour costs were thousands!!!

Really lovely work you are doing here. I worked at Hartwells in Bournemouth, towards the end, Ray Pain, George and Nigel, at that time.I think it was mostly 205 gti work, although Ray was still working on customer imp engines. They did have a full blown mid engine Imp in too, it had a PSA Tu engine and a transaxle. Love to know what happened to that car.

G'day Andy I am very proud of you cleaning the lathe it must have been earlier to use , oiling the ways and your customers would appreciate your professionalism . The videos I enjoy the most are of older engines that weren't designed to make HP . Flathead fords, 350 chevs .Hillman Imp motors my passion is 1963 6 cly Holden motors. Prejudiced 90 HP from the factory raceing engines for the drag NA are how producing 500 HP. I have noticed over years that very talented people in there field like you are very messy in the kitchen. my 2004 vw passat has done a 130 k and with a gental remap is now up to 170 brake and gives 54 to the gallon

The electric throttle is to cause a vacuum in the inlet manifold so the egr will work.

Also used as an anti shudder valve for a smoother switch off. The plenum butterflies are there to promote more swirl in the cylinders at low speed low loads for a cleaner burn. At higher speeds and loads both intake valves pass air and you get more of a tumble into the cylinders.

Hi Andy, Great video, loved the Lotus feature and nice bit of machining on the Sunbeam crank, does it have the same stroke as the Imp? Also regarding the Merc inlet manifold, I noticed you taking the measurements of the spacers and the manifold, did you take into consideration the stickout of the O'ring, might need to be very careful of clamping down on the plastic 20 thou for fear of cracking. Always enjoy the video's, has anyone ever put a bike 16 valve head on an imp block, might be an interesting project. Keep up the good work. Regards

usually the audio is good for me, dont know why its changed! THANKYOU for having me, been worried all week as i was very nervous. R100 metro is 830 kg, i thought it was less, but either way, its not meant to be a sports car, its for touring about. Bergerac s alfa looks really nice. thanks again!

I've always liked Imps and the Sunbeam Talbot Lotus💪 In case anyone here likes obscure continental hill climbs has anyone heard of the Trento~Bondone course aka the 'European Pike's Peak' ? It's a 10.75 mile/ 4,430 ft climb, many classes but running in the silhouette classes for modified production cars up to 2000cc (naturally aspirated) I was surprised to see the current leader is driving a 665 kg / 285 rwhp Fiat X1/9 fitted with an Alfa D2 engine, pretty cool I thought 👏 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJSmm5iFm5qCiJosi=qCs9i1EeOfhTw76X

As a foreigner I think, it must be loads of standard Imp crankshafts in good condition ín UK. Am I wrong? Also loads of 930 engines. Am I wrong again??

930s were never very common, i must of seen 1000's of sunbeams over the years, but only one had a 930 engine. as for IMP cranks, compared to say A series engine, not that many were made, they went out of production many many years ago, the vast majority of cars/engine made were scrapped years ago, so unfortunatly not many left.
