Hey Micah. Little tip instead of boiling the crab, steam them. Using a trivet in your pot add just enough water to touch the bottom of the trivet then add 2 tblspn white vinegar. Season your crab before steaming and they'll absorb it. The vinegar makes the meat come out of the shell easier. Also if you cut them in half beforehand makes the de-shelling process that much easier. I lived on the east coast for half my life and I love blue crab. Keep an ear out for when the soft shell are in season. Deep fried whole soft blue crab are Aaaaaamazing! Serve it up like a BLT. Keep em coming brother!

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

Bro...try and have some empathy for the creatures you catch. Love your vids dont get me wrong but not a good look just throwing those fish over the side like that and they are half dead or dead and your laughing and we can see the fish are dead, its quite sad to watch as that is food and if not then they don't deserve to suffer like that, release them as soon as possible instead of filming and chatting, wee snap shot should be sufficient and talk after you release Humanely with that lower net, Cultures like mine believe in Karma and been in Tune with Nature.. No Malice intended and keep the Videos coming, they are Awesome..thanks 👍💯💥✌🙏

I think it depends how long between when he films and when he airs a video (I guess because editing takes time). One KZbinr I watch airs a video weeks to a month after filming. So if someone told him mullet when he aired it, he may have filmed several videos before he finally saw comments about his mistake.

Love this fishing channel out or them all. I just like the way you experiment with the way you fish and the way you cook. Ace's channel is awesome too, but you and your brother, and your father videos are my favorite. Please accept my ultimate respect on the way you all do your best to preserve the environment for other fishermen. Mi "ancient" is the coolest name you call you're dad. I always called my dad "the old man" when referring to him. My little brother and a farther payed away in the same (1998) year both unexpectedly and when I watch your family enjoy fishing/hanging out w each other it brings back the awesome memories we had fishing with each other. The most memorable was when I was about 10 and my little brother was about 8. We lived in Bay City Michigan and we would try to get into the cut/tributaries of the bay (the thumb is what we used to call it) and fish during the spawn (early spring) season. To a lot of Michiganders, Lake Perch is the most delicious fish we have around here. Walleye might be second, but if you go to any restaurant in Michigan and order a perch dinner, it's expensive? Walleye is cheaper for sure. I think perch is so expensive is because the Great Lakes used to be full of them, but when other species were introduced (salmon and steal head for example) they were reduced by tons and the price went way up. Like I say, we used to go to the little cuts and tributaries next to the bay and within a couple hours (we'd get two perch per rig at almost every cast) we'd have our 50 (back then it was 50) perch limit. And they weren't little. Every single one was a jumbo. To this day during specific holidays where certain people can only eat fish on Friday's, most offer walleye (cheaper) and very few offer Perch (about two times more expensive than walleye). They're both delicious to me and I love a lot more of different types of fresh and salt water fish, but to this very day(maybe 40 or so years after we would catch perch like I said), lake perch is still my favorite. I don't really know what it is, but there's almost a tad of taste to it that tells you that you are eating fish, but the flesh is just so delicate and delicious. I've seen you all eat perch on this channel, but you really don't have it like we (maybe used to) do. The one thing is that our branding/batter is super super light. You really only want to taste the flesh of the fish. And of all the places I've ever been for perch in Michigan, the very best was called Oasis. I think the original building Burt down , but there may be a new one now. Anyway, Micha. I freaking love you and your brother's channel. Yours is my favorite, but don't tell Ace? Lol
@theperfectpaintertoolreview2 жыл бұрын
I'm from Maryland, the best way to eat blue crabs is to always steam them. Put a few balls of aluminum foil at the bottom of a pot with water for a makeshift steamer, dump a bunch of old bay. Marylanders look down on boiling blue crabs, but the rest of the country don't know any better. Always cook them live also
@joyfuljenny9936 Жыл бұрын
Micah, now I’m curious … what does the ☝️mean to you, or what did it mean when you first launched? I have only been watching your channel for 6-9 months (your brothers channel too). Not only do I enjoy the content, but I greatly appreciate that you boldly acknowledge your faith on the channel (some that many would be too a-skeered now a days to do!), and perhaps for that reason I always assumed the ☝️ (High adventure) was always a type of reference to ‘life in HIM’ as being an adventure. But maybe I read more into it?? In any case, I like the ☝️ and hope you keep it.

Hey Micah. Here in south Texas we call Lady fish (skip jack). They are not good to eat. But they are amazing bait for anything. Fish love them. So fun fact you catch more. Save them for bait. Love your videos. God be with you
@robertpotochney40362 жыл бұрын
Lady fish make excellent bait. They are very bloody. So you mentioned shark, lady fish would b great for that. They make good cut bait for other things too. Big lady fish are actually really fun to catch. But they can break your line real easy. I usually have to steel leader when they are around. Happy fishing bro. From Tampa FL. 😎

Brother I know it’s out of ignorance you did it, but as a Marylander I feel I have to call it out. Don’t boil blue crabs. Steam them in beer, preferably National Bohemian, and season with old bay. Same with the shrimp too. Then you pick the crabs

That was an amazing high adventure video! but then i saw the not WFT emblem on your hat and i almost had to thumbs down your video... but still the rest offset it. Really that was fantastic! I am curious how does fresh caught shrimp compare to froze/store bought for flavor? might be a good thing for the "me ancient" to compare between the two.

Another option instead of throwing fish from such a height is to keep them in a container of water and run them down to the beach once you get a few. Or, you could get a net like your friend Bill and - every so often - lower them down so that they can swim out.
