I think in a runner, as 2d place you want to take out 3rd and 4th to make sure you get a breakaway when the 1st place inevitably gets blued. In bagging tracks there might be a play for top 4 to wall out baggers from getting to top spots, but it's risky because the plan is ruined by the shock, which is very common in baggers obviously.

In 6v6 wars, holding multiple top spots is incredibly powerful. This is kind of like the Prisoner's Dilemma, where cooperation is truly helpful, as long as you have both trust and long-term reward. But if each person is worried about being attacked, then it's in each person's best interest to attack first.

Hey Shortcat! Over this weekend I participated in a local MarioKart tournament. Out of 50 players, I ended up making it to the top 24 and losing in the second bracket of the tournament. Even though I didn't win, I'm still very proud of my performance and I owe it to you because I probably would not have played as good as I did without watching your videos. You've taught me so many tricks and strategies that I was able to keep up with professional players. I was even able to get 1st place in Big Blue because of seeing you do the shortcut on lap 2! I was shaking that whole race because of that! It was a fun experience that I would love to do again! Hopefully I'll only improve from here. So whenever you want to duel someone, why don't you use the quickchat messages as an indicator when it starts so that the other person knows whats going on. You would have to mention the indicator in your vids a couple times, but that shouldn't be a problem. I dont really know what messages are possible but maybe smth that isnt used that often in lobbies and do it like 3 times. And if they respond with the same 3 times, it means they are ready. Im sure you would figure something out.
