Idk if the composers did it on purpose or if they just couldn't afford a real violin player but the use of MIDI violin makes it sound very mechanic. Idk I was just thinking about how the mechanical violin could be symbolising something... Also also I like the walking bass at some parts it feels kinda baroqu-ey

That's a good point. Maybe his initial cold kudereness is the mechanical aspect. Like he appears one way on the surface but has a rich melody or softness to him that only a violin can express?
