Why did the second cartoon stop suddenly? The Fleisher Brothers came out with Betty Boop and others in the late 20s-early 30s. They created the rotoscope, which paved the way for modern animation.

Technically, no one owns him, he's in the public domain. Anyone could make their own flip the frog cartoon, comic or whatever they want with him.

I don’t know why that the B/W cartoons will be owned by MGM, and for the color one. Will be owned by Turner and Warner Bros.?

I don't know if the Iwerks shorts were included when Turner bought MGM. Even so, it's safe to assume Flip went to the public domain by that point.
