Our father who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy name Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive our debts As we have forgiven our debtors Lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil For Thine is the Kingdom Power and the Glory For ever and ever Amen

That is true, we have continued to use that for a while, in fact it has been adopted in Malayalam, but as of late...lot of our younger Jacobite Achens and episcopos (like our Osthatheos Thirumeni) use more of the Western Syriac terminology on a more technical level and particularly during Holy Qurbono; the use of "Mor" instead "Mar" in our bishops is an example. It only makes sense, we're under the West Syrian rite, so we adhere to Western Syriac....

Regardless of the technical dissemination that is going on here, and setting aside the choice of using Western or Eastern rites, the prayer is phenomenal and soothing, and is more so when sung from the circumsized heart. It is as the Gospel of St. Thomas presses on, that we must have the church (and I would go to include the prayers and worship) within ourselves before entering such states of worship or establishment; and this prayer brings me to that state of mind, body, and spirit.

To an extent, the remnants of East Syriac are still there in the Indian Orthodox Church, not in a complete state though. For example, they say "madbaha" for altar, whereas Syriac Orthodox says "madboho", "kassessa", we say "kassesso", "Marth Maryam", we say "Morth Maryam"; "Qurbana" to "Qurbono" and so on...

Thank you Shawn chemmachan for your suggestion. You can feel free to correct me. Are you from US? I had gone to Sujich dn's house in New York where I could hear about you studying MA Syriac. And of course, you may be knowing better pronunciation techniques. Excuse me for my errors since I had to do all the works of what I create like orchestration, recording, visualising , uploading.. I am not vindicating myself. Errors are always errors and we need to correct. Please give me your suggestions

Indeed Sagi Shafiro! God bless the true Holy Syrian Church in India (Jacobite)! We (the syriac Orthodox in europe) stand with you in this time of opression from the Indian ''orthodox'' schismatic rebels!

Dude, get ur facts right. This video is posted by the Indian Orthodox Church and posting such comments underneath this video is just highly atrocious.

elita maria but splitting from a Church and continuing to use the liturgy of said Church is not highly atrocious?

@@eldhothomas7775 We were not under anyones yoke. The church in India was founded by St. Thomas and syrians were called help not to rule us. Everything you jacobites use in malayalam was translated by people in orthodox church, so first abandon malayalam and then preach to us.
@lizzystar19075 жыл бұрын
@@jeevangeorge2002 Oh please as long as you call yourselves Syrian Christians you belong to the Syriac rite. And yes definitely you need some authority outside if you are going under the Syriac rites it's not Indian! The Church was founded in India but not the rites and liturgy. Read your history first and figure out why your community wanted a church and authority of it's own. A Community that wants power and autonomy would only do the terrible things that Orthodox church is doing in India now against other faithful Orthodox communities like the Jacobites.

@darkgandhi05a The tails in the end is unnecessary which is not there in the right tune. "based on" grammatically may mean what you presumed. But it just meant 'Tune 8'

Hi Deacon, are you part of the Indian Orthodox Church or Jacobite? Jacobites use more Western Syriac and Indian Orthodox (along with Syro-Malabar, Chaldean and even Mar Thoma) uses Eastern Syriac and a lot of Eastern Syriac has been included in regular Malayalam language, so there will be differences. Look up H.G. Mor Osthatheos Issahaq of Jacobite church on youtube, you can hear the differences in pronunciation and words.

Achen I think you're doing a wonderful job regardless because your praise for our Lord Jesus is coming from your heart, thats what really matters. As far as the Syriac pronunciation, for a long time the churches used Eastern Syriac, but the Jacobite church uses Western Syriac which utilizes more "o" than "a" in the words. Indian Orthodox Church uses more Eastern Syriac.
