Why people take relationship advice period? What works for you,works for you, and no one else.
@justaregularguy115 Жыл бұрын
Because some ppl have good, wise relationship advice...(particularly some of our elders in years of successful marriage). Taking advice doesn't necessarily mean emulating everything someone says or does. It's mentalities like that, that are part of the problem. "Whatever works for you, works for you" is a cute bumper sticker catchphrase, but not the best "ADVICE" to give someone who has no clue and is looking for guidance.

My mother wanted me to marry one of her many picks from church. I declined! My parents were MAD when I did find someone I wanted to marry. They threatened to not pay for the wedding. I was prepared to go to the justice of the peace lol 😂. Been married 25yrs. My parents were unhappily married 38yrs. Our first rule, communicate with each other only with any problems. People think we’ve had no problems but we have. We just handle them with love privately. My mother in law actually asked me how we’ve managed not to be apart of family gossip. I told her easy just don’t tell anybody anything and don’t post to any social media accounts. She was only married to one man 9 kids. He died while pregnant with my husband.

Idk one single person giving advice to anyone. However, I do know many, many, many married women, and some married men who love to get involved in the lives of single people. Not one of these married people were happy. One was on her 6th marriage, and worried about me being single. An aunt whose husband since 1980, into he died in 2016 was a piece of trash, sexually harassing family members, and making her shovel snow. Girl who did my hair worried about me, then I find out that she was in the process of a divorce, and husband, I am quite sure, physically abused their two year old daughter, and probably her too. My bio mother- 3 kids in 3 years with three different men- asking me questions. Cousins husband doing the same, when he didn’t want her and, she didn’t want him- just got married because she told me she had to be married by the time she was 25 -not one of these times that I ever initiate the conversation. and I could go on. These are not the only examples - So yeah, it’s always the other way around. Never have happy people been in the business of single, or married people

My accountant sister who can’t hold a job for the past 10 plus years (fired or quit), had the nerve to give me unsolicited advice to let my job fire me that I worked on for 22 years (toxic hostile workplace past 3 years with different director). I told her I wasn’t going to allow them to fire me and resigned with 4 weeks notice, they told me I could leave after a week and I got paid for the 3 weeks and my month vacation time! 😂 I wasn’t going to allow those low down crooks to terminate me & not get what I worked hard for! I also can withdraw from my pension plan since I am sixty, so I left to benefit my pockets and mental health on my terms & power! If I listened to my sister I wouldn’t get my 4 weeks pay & vacation time & leave with dignity and a clean record for job reference purposes! Never listen to anyone who doesn’t have their life together! 🤷🏾♀️

Shalom man of valour and many blessings to you and to your beautiful wife and families. I know this beautiful young lady may have meant well, but a person does not necessarily have to be in a relationship or have experience under his or her belt with a relationship in order to give someone counsel or advise. Because if that was the case then The Most High Himself would be disqualified to give anyone advise. Because He Himself have never been in a physical relationship with anyone here on earth. But He is more than qualified to give a person sound wisdom and counsel about the intimate experience. Which means that He can raise up someone who has never been in a relationship and equip that person with His intelligence and cause that individual to flourish in that area when it comes to helping others with their personal and intimate relationships. A relationship is a spiritual experience first. It is not just a natural encounter. And it takes a deeper internal insight to see a relationship from its true construct. It is not enough to just know a relationship from a personal experience. A person has to know how to approach intimacy from a spiritual level when building a real intimate relationship with the opposite sex. God Bless you man of valour and thank you for allowing me to share this. Shalom
