Shuler, I totally agree with you. My husband and I have been married for 28 yrs and that’s because we took the advice of the elders in our family. I was a hot head in the beginning of our marriage but my mother had to pull me aside and teach me how to be a strong wife for my husband. She told me that a man would rather sit on the top of a roof than to deal with a nagging wife in the home. I took her advice and became his help mate. God made women to be a helpmate to her husband not a slave. I treat him like a king and he treats me like a queen.

The single parent woman headed families, the lack of gainful employment, the incarceration rate, and the least ability to thrive in America is the reason women feel they can't depend on black men in general. I know plenty black me good and bad. However, would you respect a teacher takes roll call and leaves the rest of the class. I had this talk with my mama years ago. Something I realize is that as much men like to use the Bible to say how women is suppose to "submit". Those same guys never finish that scripture, and state how husbands are to love their wives like Christ love the church. You have to give a woman something to follow. In my life I never a a strong woman (a secure woman) have a problem follow her man, when the man is doing what he suppose to do. She will feel comfortable in letting go and allowing him to take the lead. The respect work both ways.

@YenChosen2 жыл бұрын
@Johnchi02 this is the most perfect comment right here. And I appreciate the fact that it is coming from a man. The man that understands what his responsibilities and role is that he plays in the relationship. Unfortunately I just had to have this conversation this week with my husband in reference to the fact that it's not that women won't submit it's just that there is nothing to submit to when you have a man that is not taking full responsibility to lead his family it is hard for a woman who has been responsible in her life to feel comfortable with letting you be responsible for something that she knows that you do not have the capability of managing. There is an actual fear and anxiety that comes along with that for her that I don't think a lot of men understand. It's not that she doesn't want to submit, she is afraid that things will not be taken care of properly and their lives will fall apart if she gives things over to someone who has not proven to be responsible.

Although Mariah still receives more respect from us than the other women Nick got pregnant. They all signed up willingly at the end of the day. There's a reason why a man can leave one woman, then go to another woman and do everything right with that woman. There for a good time, not a long time. Nowadays it doesn't matter if a woman is living section 8 or in a luxury condo. Both find it more beneficial to be a baby mama rather than a wife. Yes, that's why understanding what submission is and how it works is so important. Because a lot of times these simple-minded black men are not really understanding that that's how submission works. We both have an understanding in the relationship that the man is the head however that doesn't mean that you should not listen to your woman because of most men will admit that their woman has the best ideas. God made us that way and some men because they lack understanding they try to demean that in women by saying that she is not submissive because she is sharing her ideas giving what would be the best interest for the family. She has the ideas it's up for you as the man to implement them that's how leadership works.

I do it by example for 22 years with my wife and our two kids. I don’t say “I’m the man of this house”. I say “ I’m the man in this house, but this is your mama’s house”. I believe the woman runs the home. I believe the home should be how the woman wants it. My wife is sho nuff a boss, but she doesn’t just do whatever to our home because that’s how I feel. She includes me. I usually just say “whatever babe, just let me know”. I’m a lawyer and she is an accountant. I make more, but she is a numbers woman. I handle our savings and CD and IRA. I lead in that, but I run it through her. Just be a boss, don’t talk boss like. These new school women kill me

Ain’t nothing wrong with what he said… just a little odd, and hypocritical, that he wants what most would describe as a “traditional woman” when his track record shows he isn’t a “traditional man”. None of the “traditional” women i know would give the time of day to a man with multiple kids and baby mommas.

Hmmmm...I disagree a lil bit. Cam from the south. Mom and dad...church...family. He took on a woman who had a daughter and then had kids to her. He did end up leaving and having one kid...openly claims and raises all the kids. Provides for all and seems involved. Not a perfect guy but very oldschool...
